USWHC -Chapter 14 An Oddball Family (Part 4)

The Ultimate Spoiled Wife: A Hilarious Shameless Couple 5 min read 14 of 368 11

“Well… I think you’re going to be disappointed. My father won’t come to ransom me!” Zhu Jie was tightly bound to the chair, tied up like a dumpling, and the whole person looked completely wilted.

“Why not? Isn’t your father a big merchant?” Old Madam Ji glared at her, eyes wide and vicious.

Zhu Jie could only lower her head and mutter weakly, “He’s not.”

“What? Then who exactly are you? Hurry up and tell the truth!” Old Madam Ji immediately grew unhappy. Not even a fat rabbit? Then what on earth had their family picked up?

But Zhu Jie didn’t answer. She just pressed her lips together and stubbornly kept silent.

“Then what’s your real name?” Ji Yi suddenly asked calmly.

His voice wasn’t loud, but it carried the authority of someone interrogating a criminal.

Zhu Jie’s eyes rolled around for a moment before she answered decisively, “Zhu Jie.”

Seeing that everyone looked unconvinced, she straightened her back and said, “That really is my real name. If you don’t believe me, you can use a lie detector!”

Zhu Jie truly wasn’t afraid of any test. Even if they somehow produced a lie detector from a more advanced era, she was confident she would pass. After all, it really was her real name—just the name she had before transmigrating. That didn’t count as lying! She said it with complete confidence.

Ji Yi still stared at her coldly. Zhu Jie deliberately gave an awkward smile and said, “Of course, I wouldn’t mind if you affectionately called me ‘Jie’.”

“Jie?” Wasn’t that basically taking advantage of him?

Ji Yi snorted coldly and returned a mocking smile. “No need for ‘Jie.’ You look about fifteen or sixteen at most. Calling you that would be too much of a stretch. But I wouldn’t mind affectionately calling you ‘Pig.’”

As he said that, a mischievous grin appeared on his face.

The whites of Zhu Jie’s eyes instantly filled her entire eye sockets. This guy—she had to admit—was pretty perceptive.

But he couldn’t just judge based on her body! This body after transmigration might only be fifteen, but her soul had already lived thirty-eight years—twenty-eight before transmigration and ten after. By that logic, wasn’t it reasonable for her to take a little advantage of him by calling herself “older sister”?

Her anger flared instantly. How dare he mock her surname! That was going too far! Didn’t he know her parents wouldn’t approve?

“Fine then! Why don’t you say your name? Let’s see what kind of wonderful name you have!” Hmph—playing word games, are we? Let’s see how you deal with this!

Ji Yi paused slightly, clearly unwilling to say it. But before he could keep silent, Ji Mei blurted it out at lightning speed:

“My brother’s name is Ji Yi! The ‘Yi’ from perseverance. Pretty cultured, right?”

She sounded very confident in her brother’s name. And in this era, where most people couldn’t even afford schooling, the common folk’s names usually hovered somewhere between “Gousheng” and “Tiedan.” Being able to give a child a name like “Yi” was already considered quite cultured.

“Oh, so you’re a chicken then!” Zhu Jie burst into hearty laughter. “Hahaha! Who would’ve thought! I caught your weakness so easily!”

Ji Yi’s face immediately darkened. He shot Zhu Jie a fierce glare.

Seeing his challenging look, Zhu Jie became even more energized and continued to mock him:

“Oh, you don’t like being called ‘chicken’? Fine then. I can affectionately call you ‘Little Aunt,’ or ‘Silly Aunt.’ Don’t worry, I’m not afraid of taking a loss!”

She deliberately stretched out the word “aunt” in a coquettish tone so no one could possibly misunderstand.

Ji Yi ground his teeth and said, “So you’re an idiot who can’t even tell men from women.”

Zhu Jie immediately bristled and fired back, “Who are you calling an idiot? I remember someone telling me last night that a good man must behave properly! That’s someone who really can’t tell men from women!”

Ji Yi looked at her, the corner of his mouth curling slightly, one eyebrow raised as if to say: Are you trying to pick a fight?

Zhu Jie raised her eyebrow right back at him: I’m never afraid of trouble.

Ji Yi deliberately let out a heavy sigh. “The main problem is that some people are hard to distinguish. I remember women aren’t supposed to look like this.”

As he spoke, his gaze slid over Zhu Jie’s body—slowly gliding down to the place that should have been proudly raised… but wasn’t.

“Are you sure you’re a woman?”

Zhu Jie looked down at her chest. What was he staring at?

Her brows immediately knitted together. Wait… what?!

A chill ran through her.

“Hey! Tell me—what exactly did you see?!”

Zhu Jie suddenly exploded to her feet. The ropes that had been wrapped around her layer after layer snapped apart instantly. She glared furiously, pointing straight at Ji Yi.

Everyone was shocked by her immense strength.

But Ji Yi remained unusually calm.

“I saw nothing at all,” he said casually. “What a pity.”

What?!

Was he making fun of her for having a small chest?!

Zhu Jie instantly felt like crying.

He saw it. He definitely saw everything!

Sob… sob… (>_<)
