USWHC -Chapter 134 Wealthy Relatives (Part 4)

The Ultimate Spoiled Wife: A Hilarious Shameless Couple 4 min read 134 of 344 1

Sitting on the wobbling ox cart, Zhu Jie let her face droop, sighing reluctantly. When Old Madam Ji got enthusiastic, it was truly baffling!

She had almost been literally hoisted onto the cart by Old Madam Ji and Big Sister-in-law You! And poor Ji Yi was still sadly leading the ox in front of the cart. Even though the family had split, when Old Madam Ji wanted to use you, there was no way to refuse.

“Elder Lord Sun…” Zhu Jie kept repeating the name in her mind. She probably hadn’t met him before, right? But Madam Sun? Miss Sun? That was still uncertain.

“Second Sister-in-law, what are you doing?” Ji Mei watched as Zhu Jie shook her head and, foolishly, brushed some dust from the cart railing onto her face. Was she so happy she’d lost her mind?

“Nothing, I just didn’t wash my face this morning, and there was something on it,” Zhu Jie pretended not to care, smearing her face messily right under their noses.

“You silly girl from the second family! Aren’t you just making yourself dirtier the more you do that?” Old Madam Ji immediately shrieked in displeasure. “How can you go out like this?”

Not being able to go out? Perfect! That was exactly the effect Zhu Jie wanted!

Unfortunately, Old Madam Ji had already planned for her to go earn some silver nuggets this time—there was no way she’d let Zhu Jie embarrass herself with a smeared face.

Old Madam Ji enthusiastically pulled out a dirty handkerchief, spat on it several times, and without asking, began rubbing Zhu Jie’s face with it!

“Ah!” Now it was Zhu Jie’s turn to scream like a slaughtered pig. No way… someone was actually wiping a person’s face with their spit!

Old Madam Ji finished quickly, and not only that, she examined Zhu Jie’s face seriously. “Not bad, clean now!”

But Zhu Jie’s heart… that was thoroughly cleaned too! Terrifying! She was completely disheveled, tears streaming down in torrents.

“Why are you crying again?” Old Madam Ji raised the handkerchief, still eager to wipe her tears.

Zhu Jie immediately stopped her sobbing, forcing a composed voice. “Mother, it’s fine, I’m not crying, really!” She hastily wiped the tears from her face, as if afraid Old Madam Ji’s saliva-covered handkerchief would catch up with her if she was a moment too slow.

This time, her tears could only flow inward. Was she really going to show her true face to people? Hopefully no one would recognize her.

The cart passed through the village and the bustling small town, winding through streets until finally arriving at a quiet alley.

Don’t underestimate this alley. When Old Madam Ji and the others saw the gate ahead, they were dumbstruck.

“Oh my, just this gate is taller than our house!” Old Madam Ji craned her neck, sighing in awe.

“Not just taller, I don’t think the archway at the front of our village is as tall!” Big Brother Ji exaggerated, calling out.

“Not just tall, but wide too. Look at the width—almost as wide as our courtyard wall!” Ji Father also widened his eyes, completely incredulous.

The Ji family, like small sparrows who had never seen the world, stood gaping at the gate in amazement.

“Lord Sun is surprisingly low-key. No wonder he managed to retire in peace and enjoy his later years—he’s quite the figure!” Suddenly, a voice rang out that seemed oddly out of place.

Low-key? With a house like this? What would high-profile even look like? The Ji family thought in unison, turning to see who had made the remark—and found it was Zhu Jie.

Old Madam Ji immediately frowned, glaring at her. “What do you know, little girl? As if you’ve seen the world!”

“Exactly, pretending to understand!” Ji Mei also gave Zhu Jie a disdainful look.

Zhu Jie didn’t argue, just shrugged and gave them a silly smile. Let them say what they wanted.

Just then, the courtyard gate opened, someone apparently walking out. Old Madam Ji put on a polite face and approached. “Excuse me, is this the residence of Elder Lord Sun?”

“Our lord has already retired. May I ask who you are?” An elderly man dressed as a servant politely responded to Old Madam Ji, with no trace of arrogance—showing that Lord Sun was strict with his household.
