“Ow, ow, ow!” The pain from her wound made Ling Ruoxi frown even more.

She absolutely hadn’t expected that the man in front of her would lick her wound—even sucking her blood!

“Remember this: divine beasts carry natural toxins. Wherever they bite, a layer of venom seeps into the wound. If you just repair the wound simply, the toxins remain in your body. Over time, it’s harmful.” Spitting out some blood, Luo Mingyu stood, raising his right hand. A pale yellow dress fell onto the bed.

“Wear this. Leave that boy to me—I’ll definitely find him.” With a slight upward curve of his lips, Luo Mingyu looked confidently at the person on the bed, then turned and walked downstairs.

She couldn’t be imagining it… Could it be that Luo Mingyu had become gentler and more considerate?

“Hey, waiter, tell me—is there a place here that’s really cold in winter and hot in summer?” Luo Mingyu extended his hand, a silver ingot appearing in his palm as he smiled faintly at the still-busy inn attendant.

Seeing the silver, the waiter swallowed hard and quickly nodded. “Young master, I know the place you mean. Everyone knows it—the Butterfly Valley in the north of the city. There’s a mountain spring there. But… for some reason, in summer it’s unbearably hot, in winter it freezes to death!”

“Good. This is your reward.” Luo Mingyu’s smile deepened. So the boy was indeed heading there; now they only needed to scout the area to confirm.

The waiter happily tucked the silver away, but as he turned, his expression froze. He stared at the woman in front of him, swallowing nervously.

Luo Mingyu also turned. In that instant, his usually calm heart skipped a beat. The familiar figure, the familiar smile, stirred his heart in a way he hadn’t expected.

The pale yellow dress accentuated her tall, elegant figure. The long gown brushed the floor, swaying with her movements. She had let down her ponytail, casually styled her twin buns, with long hair framing her face—like a celestial being who had mistakenly wandered into the mortal world. Not as fresh as the white dress, yet more strikingly beautiful.

Her fair skin seemed fragile enough to break with a touch. With her light makeup, every other beauty in the world seemed dull in comparison.

She was breathtaking—so much so that the person standing there froze completely, stunned at the sight.

Caught in her gaze, Ling Ruoxi didn’t know what to do. She held onto the staircase, her whole body tense as she descended. “Is there something on my face? Or… did I wear the wrong dress?”

“No, very beautiful.” Luo Mingyu’s gaze softened slightly. He hadn’t expected the little girl from before to have grown into such an elegant young woman.

He reached out and embraced her. “The weather’s nice today—shall we go for a walk?”

“Hey, we still have to find Xiao Wu, not go for a stroll!” Ling Ruoxi pinched his waist and glared at him.

Even she didn’t realize just how captivating she had become—the slightest smile or frown was intoxicating. Her mock anger looked playful and cute.

“Haha, don’t worry, I have my ways to find him. Come on, let’s go.” His large hand held hers firmly, and Luo Mingyu’s mood was inexplicably uplifted as he led the smiling Ling Ruoxi outside.

She tied the jade pendant around her waist. Luo Mingyu nodded in satisfaction. Her pale yellow gown, paired with the jade, made her appear like a blooming flower—stunningly beautiful.

“You’re really beautiful.” His usual teasing words made her heart flutter. Ling Ruoxi took out a pale white jade earring and gently pressed it to his ear. “Can I put it here?”

“Sure.” If she picked it, he would wear it. With his right hand, he pressed the earring to his ear. The jade pierced through, and without a sound—thanks to his Dou Qi—it went in without drawing blood.

“Uh…” Ling Ruoxi had been joking, not expecting him to actually do it. Her scalp tingled as she quickly grabbed his hand. “What are you doing?! You don’t have ear holes! You just asked if it hurt, and now you’re… torturing yourself?!”

“You know, it’s better if you stay quiet. Once you speak, everyone knows you’re not a gentle woman.” Luo Mingyu smiled faintly. It was just an ear hole.

Ling Ruoxi’s lips twitched. Not gentle? When had she ever been gentle? That word didn’t belong to her!

“Keep the silver safe.” Luo Mingyu tossed the pouch aside, taking her hand as they walked toward the door.

Two figures outside exchanged a glance and quickly followed the pair.

Ling Ruoxi tilted her head, feeling that Luo Mingyu seemed… different somehow. She instinctively looped her arm around his, teasing, “You’re being generous with your steps. Now there are two little mice following us. You said we’d take a walk, but we can’t let these two ruin the fun, right?”

“Let them be. You think these two little mice can keep up with us?” Luo Mingyu smiled faintly, and with a step forward, vanished from sight.

The most bizarre part—no one noticed them disappear.

“Where did they go? How did they suddenly vanish?!” The followers stared in shock.

Ling Ruoxi chuckled inwardly. She hadn’t expected Luo Mingyu to use a spatial contraction formation. A single step carried them a thousand meters; no matter their skills, the followers couldn’t catch up.

“Let’s go—somewhere nice…”

Bang!

Still trapped in the advanced formation, Ling Ruoxi turned, stepping forward—and collided with another woman.

“Uh… I—”

“You’re blind!” The woman on the ground shouted, enraged by Ling Ruoxi’s beauty. Jealousy flared.

Ling Ruoxi raised an eyebrow and stood silently. She had no need to reason with a rude woman.

“This young lady, I apologize on behalf of Ruoxi.” Luo Mingyu shook his head helplessly. How could anyone collide with a real person by chance?

Lin Yue looked flustered; her anger disappeared, staring blankly at Luo Mingyu. “Uh, it’s okay… young master, I…”

“Let’s go.” Luo Mingyu grabbed Ling Ruoxi’s wrist. He didn’t need to remember other women’s names. The jade earrings glimmered, and in a blink, the two had vanished again.

“Looks like you’re popular with women.” Ling Ruoxi teased.

Luo Mingyu sniffed, lips curling. “Oh? And you? Do you still have few men around? Nangong Mo, Ye Ningfeng, Fang Xu, Huangpuxuan, and…”

“Enough! Why bring them up? Why not include Tinghai and Wuque too?” Ling Ruoxi glared at him, not wanting to continue the conversation.

Her gaze fell ahead, stunned.

The air grew stifling. Inside the city, it was about thirty degrees, but here, it felt close to forty. Ling Ruoxi even felt as if her clothes might ignite.

The scenery, however, was beautiful—mountains and rivers surrounding lush green grass—but all of it was shrouded in a transparent, visible layer of atmosphere.

Strangely, there were no animals—not even insects, birds, or beasts.

Walking on the ground, she felt the scorching heat through her shoes, almost melting the soles. Touching a tree burned her hand, forcing her to withdraw.

Yet the trees and flowers remained lush and vibrant, even more colorful than usual.

Moving further, she felt slightly dehydrated. Using Dou Qi, she projected a protective shield in front of her, feeling slightly relieved.

At the center was a natural pond, clear water flowing with a soothing sound. Ling Ruoxi wished she could dive in.

It was so hot—she had expected Luo Mingyu to take her somewhere else. After all, romantic dates usually went to pleasant places. But he chose… this strange outdoors.

“Don’t touch it.” As her delicate hand neared the water, Luo Mingyu quickly grabbed her wrist, picked up a leaf, and dropped it into the pond.

Splash!

Ling Ruoxi’s eyes widened in disbelief. The leaf froze instantly upon touching the water!

Heaven… how was this possible? In this heat, how could the water freeze in an instant? Unless… it was a refrigerator!

Her mind lit up. “You mean… there’s something in this pond? Something that can freeze water anywhere?”

“When were you ever not clueless?” Luo Mingyu smiled faintly, surveying the surroundings. “In time, you’ll see what’s here. This is a fusion of ice and fire; at the junction, anomalies appear. Want to take a look?”

“…You brought me here just to see this?” Ling Ruoxi’s lips twitched. She suspected he was being half-hearted; his expression clearly showed he hadn’t intended to guide her.

Luo Mingyu chuckled softly. “Guess.”
