She had never experienced such madness before. Almost all the skin on her body was bruised purple—dense and overlapping—everywhere bearing his marks. The unbearable scent lingering in the air was proof of their frenzy the day before.

Trembling, Luo Mingyu reached out and touched that familiar face. Instinctively clenching his hands, he murmured, “You didn’t come with me because I’m still not strong enough to protect you, is that it? Ruoxi, I promise you—when I gain enough strength, I will definitely bring you back to my side. Wait for me.”

Slowly standing up, the silver-white figure lowered his head and kissed her lips, gently pressing the seal of his vow onto her forehead. Taking one last look at her face, that figure walked out and disappeared into the blinding sunlight.

Only after the person ahead had left did a white figure suddenly appear. With his head drooping, he looked at the pitiful woman—her lips swollen from biting, her eyes puffed up like walnuts.

“Why put yourself through this?” Silver Wolf sighed helplessly. “Wouldn’t it have been better to agree to go with him? Why make yourself like this?” Pinching his nose, he frowned at the stench—it was truly unpleasant, and he didn’t like it at all.

The woman lying there weakly opened her eyes. She didn’t even have the strength to sit up. Her gaze was empty as she looked at Silver Wolf. “Can you help me bathe? I can’t get up.”

“Ah… I really give up on you,” Silver Wolf muttered. “If you ever took off your clothes in front of me normally, I’d definitely get a nosebleed. But if I got one now, I’d really be worse than a beast. Look at you—what have you done to yourself? You could’ve made up any excuse, yet you chose the worst one, saying you’d marry the King of Eastern Capital. Don’t you know? Men are creatures that love to compete, get jealous, and are narrow-minded… Forget it.” Seeing her lifeless eyes and desolate appearance, Silver Wolf truly couldn’t go on. With a helpless sigh, he lifted the blanket.

The next moment, he sucked in a sharp breath of cold air. There wasn’t a single patch of uninjured skin on her body. Cloudy fluids still clung to her, emitting a rotten, unbearable stench.

But Silver Wolf’s attention was fixed on her skin—the severe bruising, where there was no trace left of her former fair complexion. Seeing this, his eyes reddened instantly. He couldn’t understand men at all—why would they treat the woman they loved so ruthlessly?

“Careful. These wounds must hurt a lot,” he said softly. Almost trembling, he picked her up and placed her into the bathing pool. Seeing her frown, his heart clenched painfully.

When his slender fingers touched the wounds, the woman lying against the stone let out a painful moan, another line of blood appearing on her cracked lips.

“Does it hurt a lot? You’re a medicinal physician—don’t you have other medicine? Take some. I’ll help you clean up.” He wanted to help her wash, but her body was covered in wounds—there was nowhere he could even begin.

Tears nearly fell from his eyes. Silver Wolf drew in a sharp breath and did his utmost to gently clean Ling Ruoxi’s body. Those marks were enough to make even him shed tears.

“All right,” Ling Ruoxi said weakly with a smile. She raised her hand, swallowed a pill, and barely managed to suppress the pain throughout her body. Her head was still buzzing, and her whole body felt limp and powerless.

Silver Wolf used his Dou Qi to protect Ling Ruoxi’s body as he carried her back to the room and dressed her. Looking at her fragile state, he knew that although Dou Qi could help her recover faster, it would also harm her. Her current body simply couldn’t withstand his fierce Dou Qi—once it entered her, it would damage her meridians instead.

“Does it still hurt anywhere? Do you need me to massage it?” Silver Wolf asked softly, reaching out to touch her forehead. Thankfully, she was still alive. But he wasn’t a medicinal physician and didn’t know whether she had other symptoms.

Thinking of that merciless violation, he felt it was even worse than beastly. He had never liked Luo Mingyu much to begin with; after this incident, his resentment only deepened. If he ever met that man again, he would make him suffer the same way—let him experience that kind of pain!

“It’s fine. I want to rest for a while. You can go out first,” Ling Ruoxi said softly. Slowly closing her eyes, she fell into a deep sleep. She didn’t want to think about anything now—she just wanted to rest well. If only, when she woke up, she could return to her former Earth. How wonderful that would be.

But that was probably impossible.

Watching her sleep, Silver Wolf opened the door and quietly left. Thinking of how she couldn’t even move, he hesitated no longer and went to find the King of Eastern Capital.

Only after the medicinal physician arrived and examined Ling Ruoxi did Silver Wolf realize how serious the situation was. Her already frail body had become extremely weak. This time, there had been no mercy at all—her body was badly damaged. For the sake of those two children back then, she had once walked right to the gates of hell and returned.

And now, she had once again reached the gates of hell—only this time, hell had not taken her in.

“Fortunately, she was discovered in time. How could this have been handled so carelessly? The wounds are infected, and combined with such brutality, her body simply couldn’t endure it. Her mind also suffered a great shock. You’d better keep a close eye on her. I’ve prescribed some herbs—make sure to decoct them properly and feed them to her. Thankfully, she used to be a medicinal physician and knew which pills to take. Otherwise, she’d already be a corpse,” the physician said gravely as he wrote the prescription. It was the first time he had seen such a strong woman—injured so badly, yet still able to hold on.

The King of Eastern Capital’s expression was extremely grim. He had never imagined that Luo Mingyu would act so extremely. This was his own woman—no matter what happened, how could he treat her like this? Compared to women with Dou Qi, she was fundamentally different. Other women could use Dou Qi to repair their bodies, but hers only erupted when she was on the brink of death.

And even that Dou Qi was not endless. Once it was exhausted, she would die all the same.

“Thank you. We’ll be careful,” the King of Eastern Capital said softly. He instructed a maid to escort the physician away and ordered the servants to prepare the medicine. No matter what, the person before him had survived—and that was a blessing.

Looking down at the barely breathing woman, the King of Eastern Capital sighed helplessly. Her body and mind had both suffered severe damage, yet the Three Talents Formation within her still existed. It was obvious that breaking this formation through external stimulation would be extraordinarily difficult.

“King of Eastern Capital,” Silver Wolf said slowly, lifting his head. His pitch-black eyes looked at the man before him. Thinking of that battered body, his heart ached. “Why are humans so cruel?”

“It is precisely because of this cruelty that humans now dominate the continent,” the King of Eastern Capital replied quietly.

On Evil King Island—the island where the Thirty-Two Heavenly Stems and Seventy-Six Earthly Fiends converged—defenses were already airtight, barring anyone from entering.

Outside the island, ambushers lay in wait, prepared for whoever dared to appear.

A breeze suddenly rose, and a silver-white figure appeared at the shore as if out of thin air. His fists clenched tightly as he swung them forward.

Boom!

The sea ahead churned violently. The explosion echoed, and splashing water fell onto the cold ground. Letting the rain soak his body, the man stood there coldly, staring ahead.

As if venting all the sorrow in his heart, his eyes held no emotion at all. Even his body moved mechanically. Stepping onto the sea’s surface, he walked forward across the water.

“Kill!”

The furious roar echoed. The ambushers burst out like scattered flowers, their small figures shooting forward like blades.

“Get lost.”

A single word—simple, yet devastating. That sharp gaze was enough to annihilate everything. Boundless fury spread from his body, coiling around him like ancient roots, terrifying to behold.

Standing on the sea, he calmly extended his hand. Black Netherworld energy surged from his fingers and exploded forward.

Like invisible blades, the elusive Netherworld energy appeared before their eyes. They only felt a sudden icy chill—before they could react, their bodies froze solid.

The man ahead merely turned back coldly and took another step forward.

Hiss!

Those behind him shuddered violently as black Netherworld energy burst from their bodies. In an instant, blood splattered everywhere—dozens died under a single move.

His terror, his ruthlessness—she had never witnessed them personally. Did she not know that the Evil King had no emotions? His love for her might have been nothing more than his own wishful thinking.

“Mingyu!”

A figure in green suddenly appeared. Seeing the scene before him, his face changed drastically. He rushed forward and pressed a hand to Luo Mingyu’s shoulder. “You’ve gone mad! If you keep this up, you’ll be overtaken by the Netherworld energy inside you!”

“Let go of me!” The low voice roared like an enraged leopard. The moving man grabbed the green-robed figure’s hand and shoved it aside.

His expression darkened as the man in green seized Luo Mingyu’s wrist. “Don’t act recklessly! What are you trying to do? Ruoxi must have had her own reasons for acting that way—don’t destroy yourself!”

“I am not destroying myself.” The icy voice echoed, as if freezing heaven and earth. A cold light flashed in his dark eyes, as though he meant to devour the world.

Standing coldly, the man said word by word, “I’m going into the Evil King Cave to cultivate. I will go to Qiongyu Immortal Island, destroy that damned place, and then rescue her mother. Great Protector.”

“You’re insane!” the man in green shouted, quickly stopping him. “Don’t you know how terrifying the Evil King Cave is? Even your master warned you never to enter it lightly! What’s more, the Netherworld energy in your body comes from that cave. If you go in, you might not even remain yourself!”

“I don’t care. Only by cultivating there can I become stronger! Believe me—mere Netherworld energy, I can endure it. I won’t let it devour me!”

Darkness—endless darkness—swept in from all sides, completely enveloping her. Within that darkness, she felt nothing at all—only an abnormal cold surrounding her, as if it were about to swallow her whole.
