RPS – Chapter 33 Gentle Li

Reborn Into a Primitive Society to Raise Babies 10 min read 33 of 98 71

The next morning, Li Feng naturally slept in. This, of course, piqued Nuo and Bu’s curiosity. Then again, there wasn’t really much to be curious about — even though the room had decent soundproofing, the door was just a wooden gate, so sounds definitely carried. Nuo and Bu must have heard it. They’d almost ended up rolling in the sheets themselves, thanks to the inspiration.

As for Xiao Mo and the baby, the two of them had slept soundly, completely oblivious. Even if they had heard something, they probably wouldn’t have thought much of it.

Li got up early and grilled some meat, along with a pot of vegetable soup. The meat smelled great, but the soup was more like boiled vegetables in water. Li Feng couldn’t eat much — he was exhausted and sleepy, his whole body aching and limp. He couldn’t even remember how many rounds Li had gone last night. All he recalled was the overwhelming ecstasy that had left him nearly limp. He might’ve even blacked out partway through… or maybe he’d just fallen asleep from sheer fatigue.

Li brought in water from the large vat in the courtyard and carefully cleaned the half-asleep Li Feng. Afterward, he climbed back into bed and snuggled Li Feng into his arms.

When Li Feng finally woke up the next morning, his brain felt like mush. The only thought in his head was: “We did it. We actually did it. My chrysanthemum is now officially a ruined blossom.”

Trying to get up, he immediately felt his whole body aching — especially his back end. Even though his chrysanthemum had been through a lot before, his body was still surprisingly resilient. After all that, it still held up.

Thinking back to last night’s madness, Li Feng’s face flushed with heat. The wild intensity had been far beyond what he expected. What shocked him even more was how he’d ended up completely immersed in it — even begging for Li to go deeper. Just remembering the details made him want to bury his face in a pillow. Honestly, thank goodness the bed was made of stone. If it hadn’t been, it definitely would’ve collapsed last night.

Turning his head, he spotted a cup of water on the stone bedside table. It was still slightly warm. He was parched, so he picked it up and drank it all in one go. Glancing around the room and not seeing Li, he figured the man must’ve gone hunting already — which was honestly a relief. It saved him from the embarrassment of facing him and thinking about last night.

He was just about to get up and check on Mo and the baby. He had no idea how their night went. The baby usually woke up once or twice during the night to nurse or pee. Mo was still so little — how had he managed? It was all Li’s fault, insisting on doing that… Ugh. He needed to check on the baby. Li Feng felt like he missed the little one terribly, even though it had only been one night.

His little bun now had a soft, rosy little face and big sparkling black eyes that spun around curiously. Every time he saw something new, he looked so bright and clever — just impossibly adorable. No, this wouldn’t do. He needed to go see him now. Judging from the light streaming in through the window, the sun was already high. Though he couldn’t say how late it actually was.

Slowly and carefully, he got out of bed, supporting his sore lower back. He felt like a seven- or eight-month-pregnant woman.

Oh… wait. Speaking of pregnancy… could he be…?

After all, he had given birth to little Baozi before…

The thought hit him like a thunderclap. He’d been so focused on doing it that he completely forgot the consequences. What if he got pregnant from just one night?! Please, no! That would be way too unlucky!

Then again… maybe not? He tried to comfort himself. His luck was notoriously bad. He’d bought tons of lottery tickets and had never won — not even a consolation prize. So maybe… hopefully… probably… it wouldn’t happen this time either? Still, the uncertainty made his head spin.

Just then, Li walked into the room and found Li Feng sitting at the edge of the bed, looking like the sky was about to fall.

“What’s wrong, Feng?” he asked, quickly walking over and pulling him into a hug.

“Uh… you didn’t go hunting?” Li Feng was surprised to see him. Wasn’t that what he was supposed to be doing?

“I told the chief you weren’t feeling well, so I stayed behind to take care of you.”

“But what about hunting? Isn’t now the time to stock up for winter? Why would the chief let you stay?” Li Feng asked, worried. Winter was almost here.

“Heh…” Li chuckled, ruffling Feng’s soft hair. “Did you forget? We’re mostly relying on your traps these days. We’ve cut back a lot on active hunting, so there’s nothing to worry about. And besides, if you’re sick, of course the chief would let me stay to take care of you. You’re our tribe’s lucky star.”

He kissed Li Feng’s slightly flushed ear and whispered, “And… I wanted to stay and take care of you.”

That last line, spoken so softly, made Li Feng’s ears go completely red. He pushed Li away. “Okay, okay, get up! I need to go check on the baby. I don’t know how he slept last night.”

“He’s fine,” Li said, helping Li Feng into his straw shoes. “He was really well-behaved last night — didn’t disturb us at all.” He gently pressed on Li Feng’s stiff lower back. “Wait a moment. Let me massage that for you.”

After hunting, Li Feng would sometimes give him massages — or whatever he called it — and it felt amazing.

Obediently, Li Feng lay down on the bed. His back really was killing him. It was better not to push himself.

Li’s hands were large and rough with calluses that didn’t match his young age. His grip was firm but skilled. At first, it hurt a little, but as he went on, his strength was just right — not too heavy, not too light — and it felt so good.

Letting out a satisfied sigh, it really was an indulgent pleasure. Li’s skills were surprisingly good—he’d definitely have to get him to do it more often. It felt too good. A contented moan escaped his lips, nearly causing Li to have a nosebleed. Li quickly gave his round little butt a pat. “Alright, time to get up. Aren’t you hungry? Didn’t you say you wanted to check on An?”

If he hadn’t been worried about Li Feng’s physical condition, Li probably would’ve pounced again right then and there.

“Mmm… no, again, one more time,” Li Feng murmured, addicted to the comfort, his voice lazy and soft, nearly moaning. Wasn’t this blatantly seducing Li? Except he didn’t even realize it.

“Come on, again!” he urged, annoyed that after all that exhaustion yesterday, today’s massage had been so brief. It had to last longer!

“You sure you want to go again?” Li lowered himself right on top of him, especially pressing his hips firmly between Li Feng’s thighs.

That jolted Li Feng wide awake. “Ah! No, no, I need to go check on the baby!” He shot up like a spring. No way was he going another round—if he did, his poor chrysanthemum might be totally wrecked. It was already so numb and sore, it barely had any sensation left.

Behind him, Li squinted and smiled—Li Feng was just too cute. He hadn’t really planned to do anything again, but it was funny seeing him get so flustered.

“Ah, baby! Little bun! Did you miss Daddy? Come give Daddy a kiss!” Li Feng took the baby from Mo’s arms. Hmm, little bun felt a bit heavier than before. It must’ve been tiring for Mo to carry him. From now on, he’d take the lead with the baby and just have Mo help out. How could he really let such a small child take care of a baby?

“Our little bun, tell Daddy—did you have milk today?”

Of course the baby couldn’t speak. He just reached out his chubby little hands, trying to grab the long hair dangling from Li Feng’s ear, babbling “ah-ah” with drool spilling from his mouth and his pink gums showing.

“Aw, is our little bun getting his first tooth?” Li Feng exclaimed. There was a tiny white dot peeking out.

Some babies start teething at three or four months, right? But their little bun had only just started drinking milk not long ago—they hadn’t even begun calcium supplements yet. “Come on, let Daddy see if it really is a tooth.” He used his thumb to gently pull up the upper lip, teasing the baby to make him open his mouth. He hadn’t gotten a clear look just now—what if it was milk residue or he’d just imagined it?

The baby happily opened his mouth on cue, giggling. His soft little hair and pale skin made him look even more adorable.

“Uncle Li Feng, let me see! Let me see too!” Mo tugged on Li Feng’s arm, wanting him to sit down or lower the baby so he could peek as well.

Li Feng sat down and lowered the baby, letting Mo lean in to look. Li stood quietly behind them, watching the trio with a gentle smile. This was perfect.

“Wow, this is great! He is teething!” Mo, to be sure, even reached out to gently feel the spot. It was hard. “Haha! He really is teething!”

Li Feng and Mo both laughed joyfully as they held the baby. Li Feng in particular showered the baby with kisses, making the little one giggle—it seemed he thought Daddy was playing a fun game with him.

“Alright, time to eat. I already fed the baby, and Mo and I have eaten. You’re the only one left,” Li said, taking the baby back and kissing his soft cheek. Then he grabbed Li Feng’s hand and led him, with Mo in tow, into the dining area.

“There’s only roast meat and green grass soup,” Li Feng announced, bringing over the roasted meat already sliced on a plate. There was also a clay bowl—probably the ‘green grass soup’ Li had mentioned.

At the words green grass soup, Li Feng nearly facepalmed. Green grass—he’d already said it was wild vegetables! Why still call it grass? Never mind. He’d said it multiple times and Li still hadn’t changed. It wasn’t worth the stress. Let him call it whatever he wanted.

But today, Li seemed especially gentle. He was talking more, his expression softer. His usually stern and handsome face now bore a faint smile, giving off waves of potent hormones. Li Feng thought, Have I lost my mind? Did sleeping with this guy actually make me develop feelings for him?

Ugh, stop it. Better just eat. Pfft—what was this? Why was the soup so salty? How much salt did he put in this? And the wild veggies were just thrown in whole—not even chopped! The roast meat was good, but Li Feng didn’t dare eat too much. Not because he didn’t want to—but because he was afraid. Afraid of what? Of going to the bathroom. Who knew if his poor chrysanthemum was still functional?

“Um, what’s wrong?” Li noticed Li Feng’s reaction and quickly asked. “Is something wrong with the soup? But we all drank it and it was fine…” He paused, then added, “Mo said earlier it was bland, so I added more salt. Does it taste better now?”

Li Feng was speechless. No wonder it was so salty. Someone told him it was too bland, so he just dumped in more salt? “You didn’t taste it yourself?”

“Of course not,” Li answered matter-of-factly. “I made it for you—why would I taste it? I already ate earlier.”

Why are you so nice to me?! Li Feng sighed. Was this what you called a kitchen idiot? Just because someone said it was bland, you think it’s fixed by adding more salt and that’s the end of it—no need to even taste it yourself?

In the end, Li Feng just went and made himself a light cornmeal soup with some greens and salt. As for the meat, he let Li and Mo handle that.

That evening, when Bu and the others returned, they brought surprising news. They had rescued someone in the mountains. The tribe leader seemed to be treating him with great care—and the information this man brought might shock them all.
