Li and the others were very satisfied with the corn cakes they had for lunch, so just before leaving, Li told Li Feng that they should have them again for dinner. Unfortunately, Li Feng’s shout as he dashed out the door went unheard. The others were still seriously discussing how to survive the winter.
Their hunting techniques had improved significantly—with traps, catching prey had become easier. But animals weren’t stupid. They might fall into the traps once or twice, but by the third time, they became extremely cautious. Although they still caught prey, the numbers weren’t as high as before. However, Li Feng now realized that if the tribe could plant corn and soybeans widely next year, they wouldn’t have to worry so much about food in the winter.
The three of them went out cheerfully to pick corn and soybeans. There were still animals caught in the traps that night. They had no idea about the joy that had erupted in the tribe over Li Feng’s earlier shout…
That evening, Li Feng didn’t make corn cakes after all. Grinding cornmeal by hand was simply too difficult. He decided they’d better make a stone mill before trying again. While the hand-ground cornmeal tasted fine, the method was just too impractical. It would be better to wait until the leisurely winter months to work on it. There were still many things to do now.
Li Feng had no idea that his shout, which the whole tribe had heard, had caused such a stir. He just assumed it was his masculine charm taking effect—maybe someone was finally attracted to him! He was quite pleased with himself. But there was one thing he was very aware of—and also troubled by: he was already a “married man.” Even if someone liked him, he couldn’t do anything about it! This realization left him deeply conflicted. What he failed to consider was: who in the tribe would fall for someone already taken, let alone someone who already had a child?
This was a primitive society—although social classes hadn’t formed yet, the idea of monogamy was very clear. No one would go after someone else’s partner, especially not someone with a child already! Li Feng’s thinking was still stuck in the modern era. The whole “third party” concept didn’t really exist here. After all, when people were struggling just to eat, who had the time or energy to steal someone else’s lover?
Even though he didn’t make the corn cakes, Li Feng still cooked up a delicious meal: stir-fried edamame, river clam and salted pork soup, and of course, grilled meat as the main dish. But this wasn’t the bland, unseasoned meat of before. He rubbed the meat with finely ground salt, added ginger juice and fruit juice—delicious beyond words. The fruity sweetness soaked into the meat, and the ginger not only removed the gaminess and enhanced the flavor but also added a bit of heat. The meat sizzled and smoked as it grilled, filling the air with an irresistible aroma even before it was eaten.
At first, the others were a bit resentful that there were no corn cakes, but once they had the freshly grilled meat in hand, their complaints vanished into thin air. Only Li still seemed dissatisfied—Li Feng was becoming more and more disobedient, blatantly ignoring his words! Though the meat was tasty, the “husband’s authority” still needed to be reinstated. Tonight would be a good time to teach him a lesson.
That night, Li sent Mo and the baby to sleep in the front room, not forgetting to hand them several large animal pelts to keep warm. Then he closed the door (well, the fenced gate), while Li Feng, clueless, was still tidying up the bedding and cheerfully humming a tune—completely unaware that Mo and the baby had already been sent off and that a big bad wolf was now eyeing him from behind. The wolf’s gaze swept over his body, especially that plump, round butt wrapped in animal skin—prime viewing material.
Still oblivious, Li Feng bent over and shook out a pelt, causing his little undergarments to peek out from beneath. Li nearly had a nosebleed. He was torn between loving how defenseless Li Feng was and being frustrated by it. It made things easier—but it also meant Li Feng didn’t even consider that kind of intimacy. They hadn’t been together since the baby was born—why didn’t Li Feng want him anymore? Was it something he did wrong?
While Li was lost in thought, his gaze devoured the view: Li Feng’s slender, smooth back, his long, honey-toned legs, and the tempting glimpses under the fur. Li’s eyes darkened with desire, and he suddenly rushed forward, tackling Li Feng onto the bed. Before Li Feng could react, he was already lying flat. His first thought wasn’t what is Li doing?, but thank goodness I just laid fresh straw and pelts—otherwise my back would be broken.
Just as that thought crossed his mind, Li’s face loomed over him, and his lips engulfed Li Feng’s. Cool and soft, Li kissed him deeply and didn’t let go.
Li Feng’s mind went blank. What the hell is he doing???
His delayed brain didn’t respond in time, allowing Li to kiss his entire face. When he finally came to, his face was practically washed in saliva. Struggling, he pushed Li’s head away. “Hey! What are you doing?” Li Feng was flustered and annoyed. What had gotten into Li?
“Feng, I want you. We haven’t been together since the baby was born…” Li whispered between kisses on Li Feng’s neck.
“You… I told you, I’m not Feng—I’m Li Feng!” he snapped. He hated being called “Feng” like that, especially now. He angrily pushed Li off and glared at him.
“Alright, alright, Li Feng, Li Feng!” Li quickly softened, embracing him and coaxing him sweetly, eyes fixed on his flushed face.
Li’s sudden submission made Li Feng unsure how to respond. He scooted to the far side of the bed. “Don’t come over here! I’m still recovering, okay?” he warned, trying to deflect. Hand stuff was one thing—but Li wanted more, and Li Feng definitely didn’t.
“Li Feng, don’t be shy. We’ve already had a baby—what’s there to be embarrassed about?” Li said gently, thinking Li Feng was just being bashful.
Li Feng’s face darkened. Embarrassed? Is that what this looks like? I’m resisting for real! “I’m not embarrassed. I just don’t want to.”
Li, still seeing his resistance as coyness, said nothing more and kissed him again. Li Feng wasn’t as strong, so he couldn’t fight him off. But he didn’t want to just give in either. He tried to speak but couldn’t—Li had completely sealed his lips, his tongue skillfully teasing him until his body weakened. Meanwhile, Li’s hands weren’t idle. They roamed freely, caressing every inch, especially his chest and lower areas. Whether it was habit or just basic physiology, Li Feng’s body responded far too easily.
As Li Feng was about to be thoroughly conquered, Mo was in the other room with the baby. It was clear now that Li had planned this in advance—the straw bed was already prepared. Mo held the soft, warm baby, inhaling the milky scent on his skin. Lately, Li Feng had been feeding the baby all sorts of animal milk, and the baby had grown used to it. Mo had also been forced to drink some, with Li Feng saying it would help him grow taller.
Mo thought the milk tasted odd—too gamey—but the baby smelled sweet and fresh. Oddly, though he drank the same milk, Mo didn’t smell like that. Still, he loved the scent on the baby and often rubbed his face against the baby’s soft little body, making the baby giggle happily.
After playing for a while, Mo wrapped the baby up in furs and was about to sleep when the baby suddenly began to wail loudly. Mo tried soothing him, but nothing worked. Maybe he missed Li Feng? After all, Li Feng usually cuddled him to sleep. With that thought, Mo quickly carried the baby toward the back room.
At that very moment, Li Feng was immersed in pleasure—both their bodies sticky with sweat and other fluids. When Mo’s voice called from outside the gate, Li Feng was in the middle of moaning under Li’s touch, his resistance weakening into half-hearted protest. Li was just about to “conquer new territory,” his finger brushing against that intimate spot—when Mo’s voice rang out.
Li Feng snapped out of it. Opening his eyes, he was stunned. Somehow, his fur wrap was gone, and he and Li were both completely naked. Worse, the area between their legs was a total mess, and their abdomens were splattered with white…
What he didn’t realize was how his face looked—flushed, lips red and swollen, eyes heavy with desire, neck and collarbone dotted with love marks…
Li Feng was mortified. What the hell just happened? He didn’t want this—yet somehow, he’d sunk right in. His face turned from red to pale to black. I actually let a man make me feel this way? If Mo hadn’t interrupted, I’d be— He vividly remembered Li’s finger already touching that place.
He should have forgotten it. But instead, every kiss, every touch was burned clearly into his memory. Li Feng nearly wanted to die. What’s wrong with me? he cursed himself inwardly. Was I just thinking with my junk? Am I really just a lust-driven animal?
But deep down, he avoided the real question—the one he didn’t want to answer, but that had already begun forming in his heart.
