Hou Dayong’s House
Hou Dayong looked at the little ghost cowering in the corner. He furrowed his brow and asked Xiao Wange, “Sister-in-law, what should we do with this ghost?”
They didn’t dare touch it themselves and could only ask her to handle it.
Xiao Wange glanced at the little ghost. Her eyes shifted slightly, and she suddenly raised her hand, casting a spell that summoned the Judge of the Underworld.
Seeing the Judge, Hou Dayong’s eyes widened, and his legs went weak.
He never imagined that in his lifetime he would not only see a ghost but also meet a high-ranking official of the Underworld. What virtue did he have to witness such a figure?
In the kitchen, Qin Xiaoling and her mother also poked their heads out and saw the Judge.
Seeing the Judge’s figure, their knees almost buckled, nearly bringing them to the ground.
“Oh my god… is that the Judge?” They couldn’t believe their eyes—they were actually seeing the Judge of the Underworld!
The Judge, holding the Book of Life and Death and a black brush, bowed respectfully to Xiao Wange and said, “My Lady~”
“My Lady?”
Hou Dayong and Qin Xiaoling’s mother stared at Xiao Wange in shock.
The Underworld Judge was calling her “My Lady”? Who was she—could she be the King of Hell?
For a moment, Hou Dayong and Qin Xiaoling’s mother held their breath, both terrified and reverent as they stared at Xiao Wange.
Xiao Wange’s expression remained indifferent. She glanced at the Judge and pointed toward the little ghost in the corner. “Take it back. This little ghost was tortured to death in life and became a tool after death. Although it harmed many people as a tool, that was not its own fault. You know how to handle it, don’t you?”
The Judge hurriedly nodded. “Rest assured, My Lady. I will handle this matter appropriately.”
“Mm.” Xiao Wange waved her hand, signaling the Judge to quickly take the ghost away.
The Judge bowed again, waved his hand at the little ghost, and then disappeared along with it.
Hou Dayong watched the direction in which the Judge vanished. He swallowed hard, his voice trembling slightly as he addressed Xiao Wange, “So… Sister-in-law…”
Calling her “Sister-in-law” felt a bit inappropriate. After all, she was a high-ranking figure in the Underworld, while he… was merely a minor character in the human world. What right did someone like him have to form a familial connection? What right did he have to call her Sister-in-law?
He swallowed again and changed his words. “My… My Lady, you… this…”
“My Lady?” Xiao Wange glanced at him. “Why are you calling me that? Just call me Sister-in-law from now on, or you can even use my name.”
After all, this was a modern society embracing technology. If people heard him calling her “My Lady,” how would they view her? They’d probably think she was some kind of eccentric.
“Yes… yes, Sister-in-law,” Hou Dayong said without daring to argue. Hearing her words, he quickly bowed, showing utmost respect.
Meanwhile, in the kitchen, Qin Xiaoling and her mother were shaking. They cast a quick glance at Xiao Wange, swallowed nervously, and then hurried to continue preparing the meal.
It was best to get the food ready quickly—for such a high-ranking figure to eat. Although she said they shouldn’t call her “My Lady,” deep down they already knew. She was a supreme figure of the Underworld, commanding even the Judge himself.
Having such a powerful being eat in their home was an honor. If it were possible, they would even want to keep her to stay in the house.
