After Mu Bai fell soundly asleep, the Dragon Blood Jade quietly emitted a brilliant blood-red glow. The dazzling light instantly illuminated the entire room.
Then, as soon as that blood-red glow appeared, the Dragon Blood Jade itself turned from crimson to white, as if all its essence had been drained away by the light.
The glow lingered above the jade for a moment, before quickly pouring into the jade pendant Mu Bai wore on his chest.
Immediately afterward, the pendant on his chest shone with blinding light. Within it, the blood-red glow and the emerald-green glow intertwined and struggled against one another. Very soon, however, the red glow gradually fused with the green, as though it had been devoured.
Then, little by little, the pendant vanished, as if it had seeped directly into Mu Bai’s body.
After about three or four minutes, the pendant had completely disappeared, leaving behind only a faint mark shaped like the pendant itself, resembling a birthmark.
And just like that, everything returned to the stillness of the deep night.
Mu Bai, fast asleep, was completely unaware of what had just transpired.
The night passed uneventfully.
The next morning, Mu Bai rose as usual, washed up, and when he felt his growth card quota had recovered, he was about to enter the mysterious space to see what rare plants he should cultivate—only to be shocked to discover that the pendant he had always relied upon had vanished without a trace.
He panicked at once.
“How is that possible?”
Mu Bai frowned.
He hurried back to the bedroom, rummaging through every drawer and corner, but found no sign of the pendant.
Finally, he took off his shirt, revealing a long, well-proportioned, yet not overly muscular upper body.
After searching both his clothes and his body for a long while, he still couldn’t find a trace of the pendant.
But during his search, he noticed something strange—a faint pendant-shaped mark had appeared on his chest.
The mark was very light, barely noticeable unless examined closely.
“Hm? What’s this?”
He looked down in surprise.
Studying the markings, Mu Bai realized they were identical to the jade pendant he used to wear.
“Could it have entered my body?”
As someone who had read countless fantasy novels—and who actually possessed a system—Mu Bai naturally had a much higher tolerance for the supernatural.
Perhaps in response to his thoughts, lines of glowing text appeared before his eyes at just the right moment:
“Ding! Host need not worry. The mysterious space absorbed the treasure-grade Dragon Blood Jade yesterday, triggering a positive mutation. The pendant has now fused with the host’s body. From now on, the host may enter or exit the mysterious space with a single thought. Additionally, due to the Dragon Blood Jade, time flow within the space has increased to one hundred times faster, and the quality of all rare flora and fauna inside has been slightly enhanced. The host is advised to continue collecting treasure-grade jade to further optimize the mysterious space.”
The timely message eased Mu Bai’s anxiety, and his tense mood finally relaxed.
He let out a long breath to steady himself.
It wasn’t that he was overreacting—after all, the mysterious space was his most important trump card, so a little worry was only natural.
“So that’s it—the mysterious space can even merge into the body.”
After understanding the system’s explanation, Mu Bai nodded with satisfaction.
This change ensured that he no longer had to fear losing the pendant, which was undoubtedly a good mutation.
And with the absorption of the Dragon Blood Jade, the space’s time flow had risen from eighty times to one hundred times faster—a pleasant surprise indeed.
“Alright, let’s enter the mysterious space and take a look.”
With that thought, Mu Bai willed himself inside, entering the warm and comfortable mysterious space.
Perhaps due to the Dragon Blood Jade, everything in the space seemed to be shrouded in a faint blood-red mist, giving it an air of mystery.
“Ding! Congratulations, host. Growth card quota for this month has been restored. You may now use 300 Primary Growth Cards or 30 Intermediate Growth Cards.”
“Ding! Due to absorption of the Dragon Blood Jade, the space has positively mutated. Time flow increased to 100x. The agarwood aloes tree has been elevated to S+ grade. Ghost orchid upgraded to S grade. Tang Dynasty Phoenix Feather upgraded to A++ grade. Tianyi Lotus upgraded to A++ grade. Platinum Dragonfish upgraded to A++ grade (approaching peak grade; advancement to S will require a long time). Red-Gold Dragonfish upgraded to A++ grade (approaching peak grade; advancement to S will require a long time).”
“Ding! …”
No sooner had he entered than one notification after another appeared before Mu Bai’s eyes.
