The pitch-black night-like sea of consciousness stretched endlessly.
Jiang Huashan sat cross-legged, resting her chin on one hand, staring at the “door of the script” in front of her.
The mottled, hard-shell cover now had an additional line of golden cursive text: “How Did I Become the White Moonlight Just by Acting Up?” Green vines wrapped around the cover like seaweed, spreading wildly in all directions, with new buds sprouting from their branches.
It… sprouted?
If this were a pot of roses, “sprouting” would mean a healthy root system and balanced nutrients.
But what does it mean for a book to sprout?
Jiang Huashan casually waved her hand, and the pages slowly opened.
On the previously blank page, the word “Contents” had clearly appeared.
But this table of contents was a bit abnormal—it only showed chapter numbers, while all chapter titles were replaced with “*****”.
At the very end, it displayed:
Chapter 222: ***** (currently updating)
So far, she had been studying this table of contents for hours, but still couldn’t figure it out. However, she was now basically certain of one thing: this was still a book—an actively updating one—and she had become its female lead.
Jiang Huashan touched her chin. There was still something she couldn’t understand: why did a title suddenly appear? Why did a table of contents suddenly appear?
Did that mean if this book continued to develop, more plotlines would appear?
And what exactly triggered its gradual completion?
Think about it—what had she done recently?
She had realized that this world was not “Dominating the World of Glory.”
And she had worked with Shen Guiling to kill Bai Zheng.
But what do these two things have in common?
“Aaaaah!” Jiang Huashan screamed, rubbing her face hard.
“Why! Why can’t I have a brain that matches my looks?! If only I could borrow Shen Guiling’s brain for a while!”
At the same time, a large group of people crowded around a hospital bed nearly 1.5 meters wide.
“What did she just say?”
According to the doctor’s prediction, Jiang Huashan should have woken up in the afternoon. But now it was already four hours past the expected time, and even Shen Jiao and Fu Sui’er had arrived, yet she was still unconscious.
Shen Zhuang was growing anxious. He pulled a chair to the bedside and sat guarding her. Shen Jiao and Fu Sui’er stood on the other side, while Shen Lanxi and Shen Qingyu had nowhere to stand and instead sat on the sofa scrolling their phones.
The doctor had come in and out seven or eight times, each time on edge. Finally, just now, the person on the bed had shown a slight movement and seemed to be murmuring.
Shen Zhuang immediately stood up and leaned in.
Shen Qingyu reacted faster than Shen Lanxi, instantly getting up and walking to the bed. “Xiao Hua’er?”
Shen Jiao carefully examined Jiang Huashan’s face and sighed. “Sounds like she’s talking in her sleep.”
“Shh.” Shen Zhuang made a silence gesture and leaned closer, but his hearing wasn’t good enough to make out anything.
Shen Lanxi put away his phone and walked over with his hands in his pockets. Just as he was about to step forward, he saw Lei Xing push Shen Guiling into the room.
Their eyes met. Shen Guiling smiled gently. “Brother Lanxi.”
Shen Lanxi nodded faintly.
They had already met earlier in the afternoon. After leaving Jiang Huashan’s room, Shen Zhuang had gone to visit Shen Guiling, with Shen Lanxi following.
Shen Guiling turned his head toward the crowded hospital bed. “She still hasn’t woken up?”
Shen Lanxi nodded.
At that moment, the old man straightened up and stepped back. “What is Xiao Hua’er muttering about? I can’t understand a single word. Who’s going to listen properly?”
Shen Lanxi stepped forward at the same time Shen Guiling moved his wheelchair forward.
Shen Qingyu, being closest, immediately said, “I’ll listen.”
Shen Lanxi paused mid-step, then continued walking toward the bed as if nothing had happened.
Shen Guiling silently withdrew his hand.
Shen Qingyu leaned down, bringing his ear close to Jiang Huashan’s lips.
“She’s saying… ‘old man… old man…’”
Shen Zhuang frowned. “What old man?”
Shen Qingyu listened again carefully. After a moment, his expression turned strange. His eyes lifted and landed on Shen Guiling through the crowd.
Shen Guiling raised his head slightly and met his gaze quietly.
Shen Qingyu straightened up, his unruly brows carrying a lazy indifference. “She’s talking nonsense. Can’t make it out.”
“If you can’t hear, why are you standing there?” Shen Zhuang pushed him aside and returned to the center position. “Sigh… why isn’t she waking up yet?”
Fu Sui’er looked worried. “Grandpa, could it be that Doctor Meng got the dosage wrong?”
Shen Zhuang thought for a moment. “Shen Zhi, prepare. We’re returning to Whale Harbor.”
The medical equipment in Jinwan was not as good as Whale Harbor’s. They couldn’t delay treatment.
Just then, Jiang Huashan’s eyelids twitched.
“Shanshan?” Shen Jiao was overjoyed and gently touched her face. “Shanshan?”
Jiang Huashan slowly opened her eyes. Countless blurry heads floated before her.
“Wake up! She’s awake!” Fu Sui’er nearly cried with joy.
Shen Guiling slowly moved his wheelchair toward the foot of the bed.
Shen Zhuang’s eyes turned slightly moist. “Xiao Hua’er, you finally woke up. Are you hungry? What do you want to eat? Tell Grandpa.”
Jiang Huashan: “Shen Guiling’s brain.”
Shen Guiling: “……”
