And just like that, they were engaged.
Wang Bo felt it was unfair to Eva. She cared deeply for his family and for him. Ever since he first brought her home, she had been the one handling the gifts. Yet, he had never given her a truly good gift.
Seeing him looking sullen, Eva thought he didn’t want to get engaged. Scared, Wang Bo quickly explained, “I feel this engagement ceremony is too trivial—it doesn’t match the effort you’ve put in.”
Hearing this, Eva smiled lightly. She raised her hand, showing the silver phoenix on her middle finger. “Look, your parents have entrusted me with the legacy. This is the best gift, even better than any trip you could have taken me on.”
She added, “Besides, I think the best place in the world is Sunset Town!”
Her words reminded Wang Bo, and he silently nodded. Taking advantage of the family watching TV, he went out to make a call, asking Bowen to have people prepare some things.
The rest of the New Year period would be spent visiting relatives and friends, attending various gatherings.
Now, Mother Bo had changed the way she introduced Eva. No longer calling her her son’s girlfriend, she directly called her her daughter-in-law.
They stayed at home until the Lantern Festival ended, after which Wang Bo prepared to return with Eva and Dale.
During this time, he had gained quite a bit. He had drawn a Level-2 Ranch Heart and a Level-1 Beehive Heart. Both were useful—the Ranch Heart could upgrade the ranch, and the Beehive Heart’s function was unknown, but he placed it on the hive, guessing it would have some effect.
Before returning, he told Father Bo to go later to help prepare for the wedding. Now that they were engaged, the wedding could be scheduled. Father Bo readily agreed. They planned to wait until the New Zealand winter ended and spring arrived—they didn’t want to endure another winter.
At the airport, Qingyang and Li Xing were sitting on the steps, looking serious and arguing.
Wang Bo thought they were fighting and hurried over. Then he heard:
“Long legs are the key! That girl’s legs were at least 1.2 meters—insane!”
“Legs for clubbing? I say big chest is the truth, and it saves money raising kids.”
“Ha, there’s no shortage of cows on the ranch. Wang Bo got a whole batch, so raising kids doesn’t matter.”
“You’re short-sighted. Raising kids isn’t just about milk powder. The hardest part is everything else, so you need a broad-minded wife. As they say, *****…”
“Look! This girl has both chest and legs, damn! Though, she’s a bit ugly.”
“I think it’s fine, hehe. Turn off the lights anyway—you won’t see it.”
“But that affects the kids’ looks.”
“I’m not worried. Look how handsome I am. If the kids inherit my face and her body, isn’t that perfect?”
“What if they inherit your body and her face?” Qingyang asked.
Li Xing looked at his thick arms and waist, decisively: “You’re right, can’t risk it.”
Wang Bo, thinking they were arguing, was speechless: “…”
Seeing him, they both stood up and waved: “Hurry, Wang Bo! There’s a top-notch girl here! Look at that waist, that butt—amazing!”
Wang Bo raised his left hand, proudly showing them: “Sorry, guys, can’t look at that anymore.”
Li Xing, impressed, asked: “Are you practicing abstinence? I should do the same, my physical fitness is clearly declining. By the way, what’s with the ring on your finger? Abstinence from…?”
Wang Bo laughed and scolded: “Get lost! This is an engagement ring, bro—I’m engaged!”
“Not married yet?” Li Xing looked surprised. “Man, you’re really steady. She’s starting a family, and you’re starting a family and career—truly a model for us!”
“Of course. By the way, did you bring a lot of stuff?” Wang Bo asked.
Li Xing pointed to a suitcase and a backpack beside him: “This is it.”
Wang Bo raised an eyebrow: “That’s all?”
“A bit much, I’ll check them in,” Li Xing said awkwardly.
Wang Bo replied: “No, you brought too little! I rented a plane. There’s plenty of space—anything allowed by customs of both countries can go!”
He looked at Qingyang: “How about you?”
Qingyang smiled and patted his backpack: “This one.”
Li Xing: “You brought even less.”
Qingyang pointed to a temporary parking spot where a van was waiting: “There’s more inside—all mine!”
They opened the van. Li Xing was shocked. The back seats had been removed for cargo, filled with suitcases, cardboard boxes, foam boxes—probably twenty in total!
Wang Bo nodded: “Now that’s more like it. Can’t waste the charter fee.”
Qingyang asked him: “And you?”
Wang Bo: “I didn’t bring much. I usually ship stuff anyway, so this is just one load.”
Li Xing muttered: “Just one load! Can I still make it home?”
“If you catch the plane, yes.”
“Waste!” Li Xing showed regret but laughed.
Most of Wang Bo’s boxes were miscellaneous. Many useful items had already been stored in the castle via the sandbox system, and he bought cows and livestock, which went into the ranch. So he could travel light. Later, he would have an explanation for all the items, just saying he brought them home.
The plane returned, landing at Christchurch International Airport, closer to Sunset Town.
Bowen had arranged a truck. Wang Bo hired people to load the items and took a helicopter ahead, with Qingyang escorting the cargo.
On the helicopter, Li Xing sighed: “Wang Bo, let me say—back in university, I never imagined you’d have this day! Maybe this sounds bad, but I honestly never thought anyone I knew could have such a day!”
Wang Bo smiled: “It’s fine. Old classmates understand each other. I didn’t expect it either.”
“Chartering a plane, buying a helicopter, owning thousands of square kilometers of land!” Li Xing shook his head. “I was a mercenary in the Middle East, met a lot of wealthy people, but few could compare to you.”
The helicopter flew straight over Oak City to Sunset Town.
Upon entering Sunset Town, Dale suddenly shouted excitedly: “Sister, that’s you!”
Eva, playing with the Snow Fox, looked up curiously: “What’s me?”
Then she saw it.
At the town center, a massive billboard—over ten meters wide, four to five meters high—showed Wang Bo embracing Eva.
Eva’s gaze was gentle, lips slightly upturned in a soft smile. Wang Bo’s left hand held her right hand around her chest, the two silver rings shining brilliantly.
