Listening to Peterson’s introduction, Coreman was brimming with pride; his large beard nearly lifted in excitement.
Wang Bo looked at him with amusement and shook his head firmly. “No doubt, this is a good horse, but unfortunately, I don’t need it. I don’t want to buy it.”
Coreman’s proud expression immediately turned to astonishment. “You want mini donkeys but won’t buy this kind of mini horse?”
Wang Bo said, “A mini donkey costs only eight thousand each. And this kind of mini horse? Two hundred thousand? Five hundred thousand?”
He had heard of mini horses before. Among miniature animals, mini horses were the most expensive because they were the only ones suitable as pets, and all were considered rare-grade companions.
Just based on Peterson’s words, Kennedy had received a purebred mini horse as a gift during his visit to Argentina. Even if these horses weren’t purebred, their price wouldn’t be cheap.
Yet Coreman gave him a surprisingly striking price: “Of course not, it’s only fifty thousand yuan. Six mini donkeys for one mini horse.”
Wang Bo was greatly surprised. “That cheap?”
His reaction clearly pleased Coreman, who laughed happily: “Yes, yes. But this isn’t a Falabella, it’s a Coreman — a Coreman pony!”
Wang Bo immediately understood his meaning and was even more astonished. “You mean… this horse is a breed you developed?”
In the world of flora and fauna, it’s common to name new species after their researchers. The Falabella pony was named after its breeder.
By saying this, Coreman implied that this horse was a new breed he had cultivated himself.
Koci was also surprised: “My God, Coreman, you succeeded? Is it a descendant of Shetland and Cara? Or a cross between Guoxia horses and Shetland ponies?”
Coreman proudly raised his head. “Yes, I succeeded. I used the Shetland pony as the maternal line and the Cara pony as the paternal line. After multiple generations of breeding, this new generation of ponies was born.”
The Shetland pony originated from the Shetland Islands in the UK. Its breeding technology is highly advanced, and it has been dwarfed to a height of 70–86 cm.
In the UK, it is both a pet for the royal aristocracy and a close companion for children. It can be ridden by children or pull a cart in competitions.
Compared to the Falabella, Shetland ponies are stronger and sturdier, though their appearance is less striking and they don’t have the silky coat of the Falabella.
Coreman said, “The new breed I developed has altered bloodlines, shinier and sleeker coats, more beautiful appearances, yet retains the Shetland’s hardiness and strength. It will definitely become the most popular new member on the market!”
“How’s their reproductive ability?” Wang Bo asked.
“Amateur question. All horses give birth to one foal per cycle, about 300 days,” Coreman said dismissively.
“But I understand your point. Unlike Falabellas, Coreman’s foals are stronger, have higher survival rates, and thus will spread more easily!”
Falabellas have issues with their offspring’s survival; the foals are prone to illness and death, hence their high prices and scarcity.
After hearing Coreman, Peterson looked respectfully at him. “If what you say is true, I salute you, sir!”
Wang Bo found the words slightly awkward, but Coreman truly was a genius in this area.
After seeing this beautiful pony, Wang Bo continued exploring. There was more waiting for him.
Coreman didn’t just raise mini livestock; he had other creatures too. Opening a closed-off breeding area, Wang Bo was shocked to see a group of crocodiles crawling in the mud!
These crocodiles had blue-gray bodies covered with hard scales and long tails. Hearing the noise, one alertly turned its head. Seeing Wang Bo enter, it immediately dove into the water.
“That’s Elizabeth, a shy girl,” Coreman said with a smile.
In the past, if someone had called a crocodile a shy girl, Wang Bo would have thought they were crazy. But these crocodiles fit the description—they were tiny, the largest only about a meter long including the tail; just the body was already very small. Even the zoo’s umbrella lizards were bigger.
“What species of crocodile is this?” Wang Bo asked curiously; he had never seen them online either.
“Sauvage dwarf caiman, a tiny member of the caiman family. Harmless to large animals, timid, and likes to dig in mud for fish,” Koci explained.
Wang Bo found it interesting, but raising them in town would be out of the question. Even dwarf crocodiles still had long mouths. Their bite force was strong enough to tear flesh, even in this small size.
Next were mini pigs, which Wang Bo knew were also in China, called “mini pigs” — fun to raise and tasty.
Coreman’s mini pigs were tiny, like little pencil cases, round and chubby, running around. Rarely, their fur was either pure white or black, never mixed.
At the end of the tour, Coreman led them to a large aquarium and asked, “Do you want this?”
Inside were gravel and granite, with a little moss and some wriggling worms.
Wang Bo was curious why he raised worms, when several of them lifted their heads and hissed out snake tongues.
“F*ck, it’s a snake!” Wang Bo shouted, jumping back in fright.
Bowen praised, “Nice jump. Definitely good at basketball!”
Koci was puzzled: “Such a strong reaction? These little snakes aren’t dangerous.”
Wang Bo shouted, “Even if shit smells good, would you eat it? I’ve been afraid of snakes since I was little! Damn it, why does the Earth have creatures like this?!”
Coreman smiled and introduced: “This is the Barbados thread snake, a very rare reptile, first discovered less than ten years ago.”
The snake is tiny, only about ten centimeters long. If not looked at carefully, it could be mistaken for a worm. It had been observed by locals years ago, but since it lived like worms in soil, it was long mistaken for one.
“This is the smallest snake in the world. Biologists believe it has reached or nearly reached the smallest size possible for snakes due to evolution and reproduction.”
Coreman added, “Don’t worry, they aren’t aggressive and make suitable pets.”
Wang Bo sneered. “Pets? That’s asking for death.”
“They aren’t aggressive or venomous. Even if they bite…”
“No, I don’t mean biting… I mean if they crawl into your nostrils while you sleep! Or even sneak into your underwear…”
Coreman froze at Wang Bo’s words and immediately ordered, “Come, put a lid on it!”
