Wang Bo opened the crab shell and scooped a bit of the roe with a small spoon, tasting it. The freshness exploded in his mouth!
The crab roe was soft and fluffy, so delicious that he didn’t want to swallow it. Wang Bo cleaned out the shell thoroughly and even licked it with his tongue at the end.
“Disgusting! Boss, don’t do that,” Atulu said, his mouth already full of steak grease, making a face of disgust.
Eva was about to lick her crab shell too, but hearing Atulu’s words, she shrugged and carefully shielded the shell with her hand as she licked it.
“Is it really that good?” The Maori man blinked. When another crab was ready, he reached for it and lifted the lid with a “crack.”
Juan tried to snatch it, but when he touched the crab, he recoiled with a grimace, shouting, “Shit! It’s hot!”
Wang Bo looked at Atulu: “Doesn’t it burn?”
The Maori man chuckled, “Only things that taste bad feel hot. Delicious food? How could it feel hot?”
He pressed the crab shell to his mouth, patting it with his other hand so that a chunk of fluffy crab roe fell directly into his mouth.
As soon as the roe hit his mouth, he inhaled sharply, blinked, and quickly moved from the beef grill to the crab-and-shrimp grill, savoring the shell.
Atulu was even more exaggerated than Wang Bo. He sucked every bit of the crab shell inside and out, tore off the hard outer shell of the remaining crab roughly, and stuffed the rest into his mouth, crunching happily.
Dale looked up: “Uncle, you have to peel the shell—it tastes better that way.”
Atulu pinched her chubby face, laughing vaguely: “Hehe, Uncle’s teeth are strong; anything tastes good to me! Come on, boss, give me two more crabs, I’ll grill them!”
“Is it that delicious?” Uncle Bing asked curiously. “I thought freshwater crabs weren’t very flavorful.”
Atulu waved his hand: “Yeah, not much taste. What’s so good about it? I swear to God, it’s not tasty at all. But after eating so much beef, it’s nice to have a change.”
But who here didn’t know him?
Juan mocked, “Hey, man, next time tell a lie that’s at least believable. And don’t drag God into it. You believe in Christ? No? Then why swear to God?”
“Try this grilled crab. Actually, I’ve never eaten freshwater crabs before.”
“This one’s cooked, right? Here, Bowen, I’ll share a piece with you.”
Two freshly grilled crabs were divided, and everyone started eating roe, picking meat, and gnawing legs. After just a few bites, chaos broke out:
“Give me back that half crab! I’m not sharing with you, Bowen!”
“Fuck! My crab leg! Who touched my crab leg?!”
“This roe is amazing! Now I finally understand what ‘fresh and delicious’ means!”
Kidd, relying on his youth and strength, tried to grab a cooked crab, but he picked the wrong opponent. Uncle Bing demonstrated what a combat expert could do—he grabbed Kid’s wrist, twisted and pulled, pinning the sports-trained young man beneath him.
Bowen laughed at the commotion, holding up his beer for a toast: “Sunset Town is way more fun. At home, I have no energy at all, changing diapers for my little brother every day!”
Wang Bo clinked bottles with him: “How’s that possible? Your little brother must be over two now, right? I remember at Christmas two years ago, he was just one.”
Bowen shrugged helplessly: “That was my second brother. This one’s the third. Yes, I now have three little brothers and a sister!”
Wang Bo exclaimed: “Texas cowboys live up to their reputation. Your parents’ combat power is no joke!”
Bowen said: “They thought I’d drift and die away from home. How could that happen? Boss, didn’t you see? When I told them I became vice mayor, their expressions were priceless.”
Eva was curious: “Don’t you video chat with them every week? You didn’t tell them you were vice mayor?”
“Nope. Those chats were just to show them I’m still alive.”
Wang Bo: “…”
After talking about home, Bowen moved on: “Boss, I could’ve come back earlier. I stayed in New York for two days to watch a big-name boxing match.”
Wang Bo, who had been following it too, said: “V was amazing! Six consecutive wins, right? I always knew he’d become a world champion!”
Bowen: “Yes, six wins, four by KO. But his situation isn’t as optimistic as the news makes it look.”
“What happened?”
“He has some discomfort in his previously injured lung. I talked to him; he plans to take some time off to recover.”
Wang Bo understood. Oakley’s lung had recovered before thanks to the Heart of Restoration. After leaving the community hospital, the heart’s effect was gone, and the old injury flared up. He felt optimistic—Oakley would recover after a rest period.
The dinner ended amidst laughter and bickering. The crabs and shrimp were eaten, but the big dog wasn’t full, whining at Atulu.
Wang Bo waved: “Let’s go back and have some chicken breast, baby. Time to go home.”
Atulu shooed it: “Yes, go with your dad to eat delicious chicken. Why are you staring at me?”
The dog kept whining. Seizing a moment, it bit Atulu’s pants pocket.
But the Maori man’s hand moved lightning-fast. He pulled a bright red crab from the pocket: “Back off, big guy. This is for my wife! You can’t have it!”
Everyone was furious. The Juan shouted: “You don’t just eat, you steal too!”
“What stealing? I took it openly!” Atulu shouted indignantly.
Charlie said: “Guys, let’s discuss it. We can split and eat together.”
Atulu hid the crab behind him, shaking his head: “No, no, this is for my wife. Go ask her!”
“Your wife’s back?”
“Nope.”
“Then how can we ask her?”
“So, no discussion. Haha.” The Maori man laughed and sprinted to his car, speeding away.
Wang Bo had Kidd and the others pack up, then took Eva and Dale back to the castle first.
Sitting on the sofa, he opened the Lord’s Heart and glanced at it. The draw was usable again, still pale green—probably nothing valuable—but he clicked anyway.
To his surprise, a mysterious heart appeared!
Wang Bo perked up, rubbing his hands in excitement, guessing its identity. The mysterious heart transformed: a pale green, cotton-like object appeared on the sandbox—the Heart of the Mist!
