HLM -Chapter 1433 Wedding Rehearsal

For a period afterward, Wang Bo began to seriously reflect on how he had been educating Dale.

That brat was way too mischievous. When she saw him hugging Zhuang Ding and kissing him like crazy, she not only didn’t pull him away—she even took out her phone and eagerly snapped a whole bunch of photos…

By the time July ended and August began, whenever Wang Bo logged onto the town forum, he would still see those photos of himself pinned right on the front page.

Eva teased him about it for quite a while. Zhuang Ding, of course, had no idea what was going on—it simply thought Wang Bo loved it the most, so it stuck to him even more closely during that time.

That only made things more awkward for Wang Bo. When Bartier came by to deliver some red wine and saw Zhuang Ding clinging tightly to him, he joked, “So you’ve conquered this dog, huh?”

Wang Bo gave a bitter smile. “Alright, let’s put an end to this. I swear I’m never drinking that much again.”

The wedding was scheduled for early October. Since many of the guests were coming from China, the National Day holiday meant everyone had time to visit Sunset Town.

Besides, October is also the most beautiful time of year in New Zealand—spring in full bloom, warm breezes in the air, and not too hot.

By mid-August, as the weather began to warm, the wedding planning company decided to hold a rehearsal. Adrian personally took on the role of wedding director, guiding everyone through the process.

The castle had already undergone preliminary decoration. The once-majestic, solemn fortress was now dressed up in a festive atmosphere. Although the millions of fresh flowers hadn’t been put in place yet, gold powder had been scattered across the walls and ground. Under the sunlight, it shimmered brilliantly, radiating luxury and grandeur.

Wang Bo and Eva; Bowen and Cosi; Charlie and Brittany; Hani and Vanessa—the four power couples of Sunset Town—sat together, waiting for the rehearsal to begin.

“Honestly, what’s the point of rehearsing this?” Hani complained. “When the time comes, we just walk in along the red carpet, right?”

Vanessa gently nudged him and whispered, “Just listen to the director’s arrangements, okay? Why are you the one with the most complaints?”

Hani chuckled awkwardly. “I’m just eager to marry you.”

A blush spread across Vanessa’s cheeks. She glanced shyly at the others—perhaps for a woman of her age, such a grand wedding was deeply overwhelming.

Bowen asked, “So should we start calling you Mrs. Hani from now on?”

Vanessa’s late husband’s surname had been Baran, so her full name was Vanessa Baran. Since her former husband had passed away, and to avoid stirring up sad memories, everyone usually addressed her as Mrs. Vanessa.

According to New Zealand’s marriage customs, after marrying Hani, she would change her name to Vanessa Hani.

Hani said gleefully, “No need to wait—she can change it right now.”

Little Hani, who was helping Adrian nearby, curled his lips in displeasure. Clearly, his dad’s “having a wife and forgetting his son” attitude made him very unhappy.

The wedding ceremony would first take place in a church. The couples would line up, then walk arm in arm to receive Father Rooney’s blessing. There, they would exchange wedding rings and make vows to one another.

Afterward, they would exit the church and board their wedding cars—all extended Lincoln limousines—which would drive in a convoy to the castle. Then, they would walk along the red carpet into the grand hall to complete the final segment of thanking the guests.

Wang Bo nodded. “This isn’t complicated at all. It’s much simpler than a traditional Chinese wedding—we even have to shoot bows and arrows.”

Adrian said, “Yes, the ceremony we’ve designed is meant to be simple and elegant. Mainly because there are too many couples. If it gets too complicated, we’re worried something might go wrong.”

Juan leaned closely against Rosalie, arm in arm, smiling as he said, “In two more months, you’ll be my bride.”

The young nurse kissed him on the cheek. “I’ve been glued to you for a long time already.”

Wang Bo used to dislike the young nurse a little, feeling that she was too utilitarian and pragmatic.

But during Eva’s pregnancy, Rosalie had been running back and forth helping constantly. As they got to know each other better, he found her to be warm, fiery, and straightforward—certainly an excellent young woman.

What he couldn’t understand was why Rosalie cared so much about money. He felt that if Juan hadn’t become one of his two key financial lieutenants and gained control over his company’s finances, Rosalie might not have agreed to marry him.

So during a break, he quietly asked Eva about it.

Eva looked at Rosalie with affection and said, “I understand her. If I were in her position, I don’t think I could have done any better.”

“You only know that she immigrated from Brazil, but you don’t know that she came from a very famous favela there. Back then, she dreamed of becoming a supermodel and then met a boyfriend.”

“That boyfriend wasn’t a good person. He got into trouble with the local gangs and racked up gambling debts. When he couldn’t pay them off, he abandoned Rosalie and ran away.”

“The gang then targeted Rosalie and wanted to do terrible things to her. To protect the family, Rosalie and Leora’s parents decided to arrange for them to immigrate.”

“You know how difficult immigration is in Brazil—it takes a lot of money. Her parents were poor people from the slums. Where would they get that kind of money? They could only sell blood, even sell organs.”

Wang Bo nodded silently. “I understand now.”

“Yes. Their parents later passed away. Rosalie earned her nursing license during that period while taking care of them. Although she eventually immigrated to New Zealand, those experiences left deep scars on her,” Eva said.

Wang Bo asked, “Does Juan know about this?”

“Yes, he does,” Eva replied. “It was after he learned all this that he decided to stay with Rosalie. She may be utilitarian, but she never hurts anyone. She’s not the ‘good girl’ people usually imagine—but she really is a good girl, isn’t she?”

Wang Bo looked at the loving couple and said, “Yes. They’re doing very well now.”

After the rehearsal, everyone felt relaxed.

Bowen looked somewhat disappointed. “That’s it? That’s our wedding? Shit, it’s not even as good as our traditional Texas weddings—at least there the groom has to show off his lasso skills.”

Wang Bo said, “You’re about to be lassoed by Cosi anyway. Better enjoy your last two months of freedom.”

Hearing their exchange, Adrian laughed. “You think it’s simple now because there’s nothing here—no audience, no guests, no formal attire. On the wedding day, you’ll be thanking me for these arrangements.”

The wedding gowns and suits for the big day were still being made. Adrian had chosen a top-tier bridal design house—Pronovias.

Pronovias is practically the world’s number-one wedding dress brand, famous for its elegance and nobility, favored by figures such as Queen Elizabeth II and Madonna. It has 158 boutiques across 60 countries worldwide.

Wang Bo and the others’ wedding dresses and suits were all being handled by this company. By the end of August, they began flying to Sydney, Australia, for their fitting sessions.
