The fate of the two young men was arrest. Uncle Bing cuffed them, then had them carried on stretchers to the roadside, where an ambulance took them to the hospital.
Sam then compiled a preliminary report and handed it to Wang Bo. “These two are from Christchurch. They don’t appear to have any links to terrorist organizations, but police records show that both were previously arrested and convicted for drug trafficking.”
Wang Bo frowned. “Drug dealers wouldn’t be this aggressive, would they? What were they trying to do? They had two modified military rifles—clearly they were planning to do something extremely serious, using the boxing match as cover!”
Sam replied, “One of them is still unconscious, and the other refuses to cooperate with the investigation. We don’t have enough manpower right now to guard them. It might be better to send them to the Auckland City Police Department.”
Wang Bo nodded. “I’ll contact Chief Smith shortly. He’ll send people to take charge of this.”
Sam gave his final report: “The cause of the gunshot has been provisionally determined as an accidental discharge caused by mechanical impact. It was likely during the vehicle’s fall—something struck or jolted the firearm, causing it to fire.”
Wang Bo sneered. “So that means they got lucky? If that stray bullet had hit those two bastards themselves…”
“That would’ve been perfect,” Sam chuckled.
If those two had died due to an accidental discharge, Wang Bo wouldn’t have felt any regret—but since it was his shot, he didn’t want to kill anyone.
The match was about to begin. Not only were New Zealand’s tycoons arriving, but wealthy figures and celebrities from Australia, the United States, and even Europe had also rushed over to watch the boxing event.
Hugo Lancaster came as well, accompanied by several friends. He didn’t bring Princess Eugenie this time. Many spectators came without female companions—after all, boxing was still considered a male-oriented sport.
Before the match even started, another serious public security incident occurred: a clash between townspeople and a boxer.
As soon as Wang Bo got the news, he didn’t even wait to hear the full report over the phone. He immediately gathered his men and rushed toward the scene.
Compared to someone attempting to bring firearms into town, a conflict between residents and athletes was an even bigger problem. Once confrontation and hostility escalated between the two sides, the boxing match would be doomed.
Wang Bo was at the airport command center, while the incident occurred next to a bar—a fifteen-minute drive away. He floored the accelerator and made it there in ten minutes.
Sunset Town now had dozens of bars. Five of them belonged to the town itself, because Wang Bo had drawn five Level-One “Hearts of Bars.”
The incident didn’t happen at any of those five, but next to a bar called Boiling Night. When he arrived, Atulu had already brought people to get the situation under control. Several burly men were knocked flat on the ground, and a short but powerfully built young man was talking with Atulu.
“What happened?” Wang Bo asked.
Atulu replied, “Those bastards from the TH gang. They were drunk, and after seeing Mr. Khariyev’s skin color, they started mocking him. Damn it—these idiots!”
Khariyev was one of the boxers competing this time, a featherweight star. His weight was relatively light—under 57 kilograms according to regulations.
There were four burly men lying on the ground, each fat and muscular, at least 157 kilograms apiece. Yet once the two sides clashed, Khariyev didn’t give them any chance and knocked all four of them down.
Wang Bo glared at them and said angrily, “Fuck—tell Jimmy to get over here, now.”
He first went to apologize to Khariyev. Khariyev was a boxer from Uzbekistan. His temper wasn’t great, but he was reasonable.
After hearing Wang Bo’s apology, he said, “This isn’t your fault, Mr. Wang. Those guys went too far. They insulted me racially and made provocative gestures. What I did was self-defense.”
Wang Bo nodded. “I understand, my friend. I’ll handle this properly. You should go rest—you have a match tomorrow, don’t you?”
Khariyev nodded unhappily. Although he had taken down all four men, they were big and strong, and it had still cost him a lot of energy. Moreover, he fought barehanded, which also damaged his fists.
All these factors combined would negatively affect his match the next day.
He was clearly holding in a lot of anger, but he knew Wang Bo’s influence, so he didn’t question the host. Instead, accompanied by his manager and coach, he quickly left by taxi.
By then, many media outlets had arrived after hearing the news. When Wang Bo turned around, he saw seven or eight cameras snapping photos nonstop.
He waved his hand, telling Atulu to take people and drag the four burly men into the bar. With a livid expression, he asked, “Where’s Jimmy?”
“He’s almost here.”
As soon as the words fell, the roar of a large motorcycle engine sounded. Jimmy parked and hurried into the bar with his men.
Seeing four of his subordinates lying on the ground groaning, he instantly flew into a rage and shouted at Wang Bo, “What the hell is going on? Who hurt my brothers?!”
Wang Bo finally lost his patience. He swept all the beer bottles off the counter onto the floor and shouted sternly, “Shut the fuck up! If you don’t want to all end up in prison, then behave yourselves for the next few days!”
“Do you have any idea what these idiots did?! These sons of bitches racially insulted and provoked a boxing star! Fuck! Do you know what time this is? Do you know how many media outlets are here?!”
Jimmy roared back, “I don’t care about any of that! Damn it, hurting my brothers is unacceptable!”
The burly men beside him also started shouting:
“That’s right—get revenge! The TH gang can’t just be bullied!”
“So what if he’s a star? Make him kneel and apologize!”
“Let’s go—let’s get them!”
Wang Bo’s face turned dark. “Shit will always be shit. I really overestimated human nature!”
A group of burly men glared at him. Wang Bo struggled to suppress his rage, pointed at them, and said, “Listen carefully. This boxing match is critically important to Sunset Town—and even to all of New Zealand. Whoever dares to cause trouble for me, I’ll kill him!”
He stepped forward and slowly grabbed Jimmy by the collar. “I’m not joking—kill him. I absolutely dare to do it! And you—if you cause any more trouble, any at all, get the hell out of Sunset Town immediately. Immediately, do you hear me?”
Jimmy shouted angrily, “So our brothers just get bullied like this?!”
Wang Bo roared back, “Bullied my ass! It was you who bullied others! When you live this life, you always have to pay it back. If you do something wrong, you get beaten. And if you get beaten, you take it standing up!”
Jimmy’s expression turned ugly. Wang Bo gave him a final warning. “Control your people. If any more bad news comes out during this period, I don’t care whether you’re considered a ‘positive-image’ gang or not—I’ll kick you all out immediately!”
He didn’t have time to argue further with Jimmy. After issuing the warning, he turned to Atulu and ordered, “Spread the word. Before the boxing match ends, anyone who dares to sell alcohol to members of the TH gang—shut them down on the spot and kick them out!”
“Put your hands where I can see them! Police! You are under arrest!”
