Lions and tigers are both members of the cat family. Their spinal structures are unique and not suited for bearing loads. So even though Little Wang was tall and powerfully built, aside from the little loli who once climbed onto him just to play, Wang Bo never allowed adults to ride him.
This time his stance was the same. To avoid injuring Little Wang, he gently patted the top of Little Wang’s head and said,
“Alright, your old man knows you’re amazing, but you can’t be willful, got it? Come on, let’s get down.”
Little Wang let out a dissatisfied roar and used his massive paws to scratch at Wang Bo’s back, determined to make him ride no matter what.
Wang Bo sighed helplessly. “Fine, fine, you’re the best. Damn it—if I break your waist later, don’t scream bloody murder. And if you run too fast, don’t shake your old man off!”
“Wuu—!” Little Wang continued roaring, his face full of impatience.
Wang Bo flipped himself up onto Little Wang’s back. The lion’s fur had been baked by the sun and was scorching hot—he almost got burned the moment he got on.
“Holy shit, why is it so hot?!”
As soon as he was on, Little Wang stood up. It wasn’t used to carrying weight yet and walked with some difficulty.
Wang Bo worried he might crush him, so he flattened himself against Little Wang’s back, wrapping both arms around its neck and clamping his legs tightly under its ribs.
Even so, he couldn’t stabilize himself. Little Wang’s fur was far too smooth. As it walked, the muscles in its back and limbs tightened and relaxed rhythmically, causing Wang Bo to slide around on top.
All he could do was cling on desperately. Once Little Wang adapted to his weight, it began to accelerate downhill.
Zhuang Ding and Queen ran behind them. Wang Bo flashed them a terrifying grin and shouted,
“Damn it, stay close! If I fall off later, you better catch me!”
Little Wang’s four limbs swung powerfully as it ran down the mountain path. Its huge paws slapped the ground like built-in airbags, absorbing the shock. Once it reached full speed, the ride surprisingly wasn’t bumpy.
Wang Bo finally breathed a sigh of relief. As long as he didn’t do anything stupid, he wouldn’t fall off.
Unfortunately, Little Wang had clearly entered a drunken frenzy—the faster it ran, the more excited it got.
There were plenty of pedestrians on the mountain road. Wang Bo immediately realized this wouldn’t do and shouted, “Zhuang Ding, go ahead and clear the road! Queen, hurry—go to the front!”
The two dogs couldn’t understand his words at first. Seeing this, he quickly signaled with his eyes. Finally getting the message, they sprinted ahead of Little Wang, barking loudly as they ran.
With two big dogs clearing the way, the road ahead was wide open. Little Wang just had to keep its head down and run.
Tourists along the roadside gasped in amazement:
“Wow! He’s riding a liger? That’s so majestic!”
“Mom, I want to ride too!”
“This liger is incredible—carrying an adult and still running so fast and fiercely!”
Wang Bo cursed inwardly. You think it looks cool? Try getting up here yourselves—you’ll know how miserable it is!
Without a saddle or stirrups, riding an animal was extremely difficult. Wang Bo was using every ounce of strength he had just to keep his balance and avoid sliding off.
Worse still, the sun was blazing overhead. Lying flat on Little Wang’s back left his entire back exposed, roasting his skin until it felt like it was on fire.
At this point he was even wondering if that little bastard Little Wang was deliberately making him hang off the back as a human sunshade.
Mountain roads always have bends. Once Little Wang picked up speed, turning was difficult due to inertia. Its small brain wasn’t very developed, and its ability to control momentum was limited.
Seeing a curve ahead, Wang Bo’s heart sank. Like a female driver about to crash, he buried his face straight into the lion’s mane—out of sight, out of mind.
But after drinking, not only had Little Wang’s courage increased, its balance control had improved too. It slowed down in advance, twisted its body, and although Wang Bo slid a bit, they successfully avoided disaster.
Safe and sound. The foot of the mountain was right ahead. Seeing the lush grassland below, Wang Bo finally relaxed. Once they reached there, even if he got thrown off, it wouldn’t matter—
—Holy shit!
Just as he was reassuring himself, Little Wang suddenly slammed on the brakes at the foot of the mountain!
When turning, Little Wang slowed down, and Wang Bo could handle the inertia. But this time the stop was abrupt. With fur that slick, Wang Bo shot forward like a cannonball from a smoothbore—whoosh!—and went flying!
Thud!
With a dull crash, Wang Bo slammed into the grass.
Little Wang opened its mouth and roared loudly: “Wuu—roar!”
Wang Bo struggled up from the ground, his belly and arms burning with pain—especially his arms. Earlier, he’d hugged in to protect his head, and as a result his arms scraped hard against the ground. He’d taken a nasty hit.
“Damn it!” He cursed as he stood up and shouted, “Roar, roar, roar—what the hell are you roaring for?!”
Little Wang ignored him and kept roaring.
Nearby, a white yak flicked its tail and looked at them innocently. What does this have to do with me?
There was a teenage boy sitting on the white yak, with his parents leading it from the front. Seeing the enraged, roaring liger, all three were terrified, their faces pale.
Wang Bo was just as terrified. Shit—Little Wang, don’t you dare cause trouble for me!
Little Wang was probably stimulated by the white yak’s massive size. It stood there with its mouth wide open, roaring nonstop. Thankfully, it didn’t pounce to attack.
Wang Bo rushed over and grabbed a fistful of Little Wang’s mane, roaring at it, “Is this ever going to end?! Is it?! Is it?!”
The tourist couple screamed in terror, “Help! Help!”
Little Wang tried to push him away with its paw. Wang Bo finally snapped. He punched it squarely on the head and barked, “What the hell are you trying to do?! Are you crazy?!”
Wang Bo’s full-force punch was no joke. Little Wang staggered from the blow.
After taking that punch, it seemed to recall the fear of being dominated by fists in the past. It tucked its tail, retreated a few steps, and stared at Wang Bo with wide, timid eyes—none of its previous ferocity left.
Wang Bo pointed toward Lake Hāwea and shouted, “Get your damn ass into the lake! Jump in! Go sober up in the water! You’re never touching alcohol again! Go! If you don’t, I won’t want you anymore!”
Little Wang blinked, as if tasting his words. Then, with its tail tucked, it ran across the pasture toward Lake Hāwea.
Cousins rode up on horseback and shouted, “Boss, what happened?!”
Panting heavily, Wang Bo said, “Little Wang got drunk. Damn it—quick, get down and give me your horse. I need to keep an eye on it!”
As Little Wang sprinted wildly, it truly looked like the king of beasts—plowing straight through everything in its path. Cow in the way? Slammed. Sheep in the way? Slammed. It forced its way through and then leaped straight into the lake.
The lakeshore was the territory of the water buffalo herd. A young water buffalo stood at the edge, staring blankly at Little Wang, seemingly unable to process why such a massive creature had suddenly appeared.
Little Wang shook its head, looked at the calf, and let out a roar: “Wuu!”
Roaring as it advanced, it looked like it was about to hunt.
Wang Bo, still riding over on horseback, could only watch anxiously from afar.
Just as he thought the little water buffalo was about to be attacked, the lake erupted with splashing sounds—
—and a cluster of even larger giants surfaced around Little Wang!
Dozens of burly, powerful adult water buffalo emerged from the water. The calf glanced calmly at Little Wang, then lowered its head and continued grazing.
