HLM -Chapter 1309 The Queen Nanny

When she heard that her daughter was missing, Eva couldn’t sleep anymore. She sprang up and cried out, “Baby, baby—where’s my daughter?!”

Wang Bo opened the sandbox, intending to search, but suddenly realized that using this thing to find a child was no different from looking for a needle in the ocean. It would be better to ask Zhuang Ding directly. “Where’s the baby? How did the little girl disappear?”

He had panicked instinctively just now, but quickly came to his senses. With Queen, Zhuang Ding and a whole pack of Rottweilers around, there was no way the baby could have been kidnapped.

If outsiders couldn’t get in, then whoever did this had to be an insider.

Zhuang Ding curled its lips, arrogantly turning its head toward the coat rack. Clearly, it was unhappy about being scolded earlier.

Under normal circumstances, Wang Bo would have corrected this bad habit—what kind of brat does something wrong and won’t even let people talk about it? But this was an emergency. Finding his daughter came first.

He quickly wrapped his arms around Zhuang Ding’s head and planted several kisses on it. “Zhuang Ding is the best. Such a good boy…”

“Ah, baby queen. Ah, Queen Baby!” The commander’s voice suddenly rang out.

As if they were singing in chorus, right after that the commissar’s voice followed, “Dog and baby, dog and baby.”

Eva reacted instantly. “The Queen carried the baby away? My God—what is this brat planning to do? Wang Bo, why are you still standing there? Don’t you want your daughter anymore?!”

Zhuang Ding lifted its head, still waiting for an apology from Wang Bo. Seeing that smug look made Wang Bo angry. He slapped it once and barked, “Get lost! I’ll deal with you later!”

The two of them rushed out in big strides. As soon as Wang Bo stepped outside, he started shouting, “Queen! Queen! Get over here right now!”

Zhuang Ding ran ahead with its tongue hanging out, then turned back and barked twice ingratiatingly, signaling them to follow—it was leading them to the baby.

But its enthusiasm wasn’t needed. The Queen was already trotting over, clack-clack-clack, with the baby’s swaddle held gently in her mouth. Behind her followed a whole group of little Rottweilers, flowing along like a stream.

Eva hurriedly picked up her daughter. The little girl blinked her big round eyes at her, happily sucking on her fingers.

Wang Bo took off the diaper—it was full to the brim. Yet the little girl hadn’t cried at all. There wasn’t even a trace of tears on her face, which showed just how well-behaved she’d been through the night.

After putting on a fresh diaper, the little one opened her mouth and started crying instead. But it was just dry howling—her little horn was loud and clear, without a single tear falling.

Wang Bo was utterly baffled. “What the hell is this? As soon as she’s back in our arms she starts crying, but she didn’t make a sound all night with the Queen?”

Eva asked, “You’re sure she didn’t cry last night, right?”

Wang Bo said, “At least I didn’t hear anything. She definitely didn’t cry—otherwise my parents would have heard it and taken the baby away. She wouldn’t still be with the Queen now. By the way, how did the Queen even take her?”

Eva shot him an angry look. “You’re asking me? You’re asking me that question? You know perfectly well—once I fall asleep, unless the baby cries, I won’t wake up. And you? Didn’t you say not even the slightest movement can escape your eyes?”

Wang Bo scratched his head guiltily. “I do sleep lightly, but the Queen must have moved way too quietly. I didn’t hear a thing.”

The Queen sat quietly nearby. When she saw the baby crying, she braced herself against Eva’s waist, gently took the swaddle in her mouth, and began to walk slowly.

As she moved, the swaddle swayed back and forth like a tiny cradle. Before long, the little girl settled down, opened her mouth, stuffed her thumb back in, and happily started sucking again.

Eva took the thumb out, then she and Wang Bo stared at each other in silence.

After a long moment, Wang Bo finally said with difficulty, “I hate to admit it, but it seems the Queen is better at taking care of a baby than we are.”

Eva said, “Isn’t the Queen amazing? They say Labradors are the best with children—but if a Rottweiler is already this capable, just how incredible must Labradors be?”

Wang Bo wrapped an arm around Eva and said, “What are you saying—can a Labrador compare to my Queen? My Queen is the best! From now on, we’ll bring the Queen into the bedroom at night to watch the baby!”

Eva said, “Only at night? That’s a waste of the Queen’s talent. Let her take care of the baby during the day too.”

When the little girl stopped crying, the Queen gently laid her down on the carpet. The other little Rottweilers surrounded her. From time to time, the baby would stretch out a hand and touch an ear or a tail, and then she’d grin widely.

“Even though I hate to admit it, the Queen really is more like a mother than I am—she’s better at caring for a child,” Eva said helplessly.

Wang Bo chuckled. “What’s there to be unwilling about? This is great news!”

As he spoke, he turned and kissed the Queen. “The organization has decided—from now on, the little princess is officially entrusted to the Queen. The Queen is amazing, the Queen is the best, Queen, we all love you so much.”

The Queen lifted her head proudly and cast a disdainful glance at Zhuang Ding and the chubby cat brothers, her gaze full of superiority.

At breakfast, when Wang Bo’s parents saw the Queen carrying the baby, they panicked. “Why are you letting a dog hold the child?!”

Wang Bo said proudly, “Mom, don’t call the Queen a dog anymore. She’s the baby’s nanny now. She’s outstanding, right, Queen?”

The Queen wagged her tail happily—of course I’m outstanding. I’ve raised more kids than you’ve even seen. Give me two more noisy little brats and I can handle them just fine!

Father Bo said, “Behave yourself. The baby is your child, not a toy. Can you really treat her like this? Besides, dogs inevitably carry bacteria and viruses. What if she gets infected?”

The Queen didn’t understand the specifics, but she was very sensitive. From the tone alone, she sensed Father Bo’s hostility and lowered her head in dejection.

Seeing this, Eva stopped eating and hurried over to hug her, then said, “Dad, Mom, dogs are just like people—they don’t naturally carry diseases. Any bacteria or virus needs a source to survive.”

“We interact with all kinds of people every day, while the Queen stays in the villa all the time. She has far fewer bacteria and viruses than we do, so for the baby, she’s actually cleaner.”

Father Bo shook his head. “Fine, you make sense—but a child still needs to be taken care of by people.”

Wang Bo said, “That’s fine. You and Mom can take care of the baby during the day, and at night the Queen will take over.”

Mother Bo frowned. “Listen to yourself. Are you really the baby’s biological father?”

Wang Bo said helplessly, “It’s precisely because I’m her biological father that I’m being so responsible! The Queen is an excellent nanny—she’ll take great care of the baby. You can safely leave her to the Queen!”

It wasn’t laziness—facts spoke louder than words. The Queen truly had a knack for caring for children, and the baby clearly loved her scent and presence. Being with the Rottweilers, she was extraordinarily calm and happy.

Of course, this obviously had something to do with the Queen’s third-tier Soul Heart. For Zhuang Ding, it made him stronger; for the Queen, it seemed to make her exceptionally skilled at caring for young creatures—whether human or dog.
