The middle-aged disabled man was just about to speak when the man called Heizi, who was playing the guitar, had already crawled over on his knees. The pouch around his neck already contained some loose change.

His hoarse singing never stopped. The guitar playing was messy, and his singing was already completely out of tune.

Seeing that he had finally come over, Lin Hao stared into his eyes and asked, “How do you know how to sing this song?”

Heizi was obviously startled. A trace of panic flashed across his eyes.

“Bang!”

The middle-aged disabled man once again slammed the brick hard onto the floor. Before he could say anything, the train stopped.

Heizi reached out and pulled the middle-aged disabled man up, saying anxiously, “We’re getting off!”

The middle-aged disabled man glared fiercely at Wu Xiaozhou. Then he turned his head and looked at Lin Hao with a hint of suspicion in his eyes. After that, he turned around and used the two bricks under his hands to support himself as he moved toward the door.

Soon, the two of them got off the train.

Wu Xiaozhou stuck his head out of the window and shouted, “If you need people, come find me in the provincial capital! I’m also in a hurry to make money!”

The two beggars didn’t even turn their heads back. Especially Heizi—he was moving forward on his knees, yet he was surprisingly fast.

Xia Yumeng gave Wu Xiaozhou a thumbs-up, and Wu Xiaozhou immediately became smug.

The girl sitting beside him turned her head and said to him, “My name is Jiang Rong.”

Wu Xiaozhou looked at her delicate, fair, and pretty little face and said, “My name is Wu Xiaozhou!”

“Mm, I know!”

Wu Xiaozhou chuckled foolishly, not knowing what to say next.

Lin Hao’s mind was still occupied with that Heizi from just now. Why had he become so flustered after hearing his question? Who exactly was this person?

This guy’s guitar skills were truly amateur among amateurs. Often, he would sing several lines before changing chords. Sometimes, the chords didn’t match the melody at all—the chords he used were completely wrong.

His singing also had no technique whatsoever. He was just an ordinary person!

But how did he know this song?

Did someone teach him?

Or had he heard someone else sing it?

If he had heard someone else sing it, then who was that person?

Just as Lin Hao was deep in thought, Wan Yong across from them became lively again.

Xia Yumeng and Jiang Rong were both watching excitedly as well.

Wu Xiaozhou leaned over and whispered, “Haozi, why don’t you sing one too? There are so many beautiful girls here. Aren’t you going to capture a few hearts?”

Lin Hao rolled his eyes at him.

Recently, he had discovered a problem with himself—he didn’t seem very interested in girls his own age.

Instead, he had a strong feeling toward mature women like Chu Yu and Daxia. Was this because of his mental age? Or were they just too attractive?

Although he was wearing the body of a nineteen-year-old, he had after all lived until he was forty-two before dying in his previous life. His mental age was definitely not nineteen.

He let out a long sigh. What was he supposed to do? Could it be that he was going to become a “mature woman” enthusiast in the future?

That would not be good for his future career in entertainment. Looks like he absolutely needed to have a romance while in college and correct this “abnormality” of his!

Besides, weren’t those fresh and sweet little girls charming too?

And besides, in his previous life, he had always liked young girls right up until he was bedridden!

Then again, could it be that he had just had too few chances to interact with young girls recently?

He scratched his head, feeling somewhat troubled. Then he looked at Xia Yumeng beside him. From this angle, even the fine hairs on her cheeks were clearly visible. His heart couldn’t help but start pounding violently.

Thank goodness!

Lin Hao let out a sigh of relief and felt quite comforted. It seemed that he still did like young girls after all; otherwise, he wouldn’t have had this kind of heart-fluttering feeling.

Wan Yong sang a fast-paced song, and the atmosphere inside the train carriage became lively. Many people started singing along with him.

After all, they were young people. Once Wan Yong finished two songs, another chubby little guy immediately stepped forward. Surprisingly, he used a traditional folk singing style. Wan Yong accompanied him, and his high-pitched voice was so impressive that even Lin Hao applauded for him.

Then another pretty young girl stepped forward, and many boys whistled.

Lin Hao suddenly thought of Zhang Sisi, who lived across from his house, and asked Wu Xiaozhou, “Hey, why haven’t I seen Zhang Sisi?”

“You don’t know?” Wu Xiaozhou looked surprised.

Lin Hao was stunned. “Know what?”

“Li Yibo missed the score line for the Polytechnic University by 32 points. Zhang Sisi gave up on Normal University and decided to repeat a year with him!”

“Damn!” Lin Hao was a little dumbfounded. How come he didn’t know anything about this? “So the two of them got together?”

Wu Xiaozhou looked regretful. “Sigh, such a beautiful flower, and she ended up stuck in a pile of cow dung like Li Yibo! I guess they probably got together during this summer vacation.”

Thinking about it, it wasn’t that strange. It seemed that ever since their first year of high school, Li Yibo had already liked Zhang Sisi. One was the literary arts committee member, and the other was the famous singer-guitarist of No. 10 Middle School. Feelings developing over time wasn’t surprising.

Wu Xiaozhou added, “This matter almost didn’t make Uncle Zhang and Aunt Zhang die of anger. When Aunt Zhang told my mom about it, she cried so hard—tears and snot everywhere!”

Lin Hao shook his head. Hopefully Zhang Sisi’s kind of sacrifice would receive a reward in the future.

He had a faintly bad feeling in his heart and was a little worried about Zhang Sisi. He had never really thought highly of Li Yibo; he always felt that this person was somewhat feminine and unreliable.

At the back of the carriage, another girl’s singing voice rang out. Lin Hao turned around and knelt on his seat to look.

The girl was around 165 centimeters tall. She wore a white long dress, had long black hair, an oval-shaped face, and big eyes. Her skin was very fair. She sang a love song, and her voice was sweet and smooth.

Lin Hao’s eyes lit up. It was like he had discovered a flawless piece of jade. After listening for a while, however, he felt a little regretful. The girl’s voice was very clean, but it lacked some tension and explosive power.

Also, the biggest problem was her breathing. She often used both her mouth and nose to quickly inhale. In this kind of environment, it wasn’t a problem, but if she stood on stage, the sound of her breathing would clearly be transmitted through the microphone into the audience’s ears.

Lin Hao frowned slightly with regret. This girl, whether in appearance or voice, was definitely a good seedling. Given enough time, if she received his guidance, she would absolutely be able to become famous across the entire country and become a generation-defining sweet-voice singer!

Wu Xiaozhou stared at the girl without blinking. His big eyes seemed to be glowing.

The girl finished singing two songs, and Wan Yong shouted toward Lin Hao, “Bro, this little sister sings so well. Why have you been frowning the whole time? What’s that supposed to mean?”

Wan Yong’s words caused some people in the carriage to start discussing. Someone also shouted, “Exactly! You’ve been looking so gloomy!”

“Hey, if you’re so good, come up and sing a song yourself!”

“Yeah, acting like you’re some kind of expert!”

“……”

Lin Hao hadn’t expected Wan Yong to target him. It was just his professional habit acting up. He had been thinking about the girl’s singing technique the entire time, so his expression probably hadn’t looked very pleasant.

Seeing so many people looking at him, Lin Hao quickly explained, “Sorry, I was just thinking about something else.”

After saying that, he even cupped his hands toward everyone as an apology.

The girl who had sung smiled slightly at him and didn’t seem angry.

Wan Yong glanced sideways at the electric bass behind Wu Xiaozhou and shouted again, “So many people have sung already. Why don’t you sing one too?”

The others also started cheering him on.

Lin Hao smiled but didn’t say anything. He turned around and sat back down.

Xia Yumeng looked at Lin Hao and asked, “Do you know how to sing?”

Lin Hao just chuckled again.

Wu Xiaozhou couldn’t take it anymore. He stood up, pointed at Wan Yong, and cursed, “Shut your damn mouth! Whose pants weren’t fastened properly and let a guy like you slip out?”

The carriage went silent. Nobody expected this thick-eyebrowed, big-eyed guy to be so rude and start cursing directly.

Wan Yong’s face turned red. He pointed at Wu Xiaozhou. “Say that again?”

“F***! You damn bastard, I’m cursing you, so what?” Wu Xiaozhou didn’t care at all and continued swearing.

With so many people watching—and all of them students heading to the provincial capital—Wan Yong felt that if he didn’t do something, he would lose face. So he picked up his guitar and prepared to walk over.

Wu Xiaozhou crossed his arms, tilted his eyes, and looked at him with a mocking smile.
