Without saying, Qi Xingchen’s solution was very effective. By the end of the morning, more people were buying the goods sold at the more expensive price than the cheaper price. Moreover, out of the consumers’ curiosity, the overall sales volume was several notches higher than before.
Old Tie, however, felt very apologetic in his heart and pulled Qi Xingchen aside: “Xingxing, say, are we scamming people by doing this?”
To be honest, although Old Tie’s ironware was worth a lot much money, this sales tactic was indeed unethical. Qi Xingchen nodded.
Old Tie negotiated: “Then, can we change our method this afternoon?”
Old Tie was an honest man, and Qi Xingchen naturally did not want to force him to become an unscrupulous businessman. Little Tie was still beside them, and Qi Xingchen hoped that he too will learn to be good and honest.
At the request of Old Tie, everyone changed the way they promoted their sales in the afternoon. Qi Xingchen picked up his old profession, flinging enough kitchen utensils to fill the whole sky; Tao Tao and Liu Ziyu’s smiles were each sweeter than the last, charming many young lads into buying quite a few basins.
Later, someone recognised Bo Ye, and everything in the stall was cleaned out. With the day’s task successfully completed, everyone sat in the empty open-top container of the truck, patting their waist packs while singing the whole way.
Back at the Zeng family courtyard, Director Zhao gathered the people in one place to take stock of the day’s situation.
“Everyone did well on the first mission, so I’ll spare you the empty words. I will now announce the reward for the first task: one PASS card!”
“When a mission that you feel is too difficult to complete or do not want to complete arises, you can use the PASS card to simply pass the mission, the quota of the reward being: 1.”
Hearing the PASS card, the guests were overjoyed, but once they heard that the quota was only one person, they all wailed in unison, “There are seven of us!”
“Heh heh, in any case, there’s only one PASS, you all can allocate it as you like, I’m leaving first~” Director Zhao was afraid of being beaten up, throwing down the card and scampering away.
There was nothing to be done. If one participates in someone else’s programme, you could only abide by their rules. Zhang Yunfei clapped his hands and said exasperatedly, “Having one card is always better than having none at all. How about this, I’ll say who I think should get the card, and we’ll all vote by a show of hands, okay?”
“Sure.”
“Then, I think Xingxing and Bo Ye were the greatest contributors today, a more than half of our turnover today comes from them, any objections?”
Everyone shook their heads: “Nope.”
“Let’s vote by a show of hands,” said Zhang Yunfei, “removing the two parties involved, there are exactly of us five left. The one who gets three or more votes will be able to get the PASS card.”
Hearing this, Zhou Yu’s eyes moved rapidly. In this programme, Bo Ye was the one with the most fame. If he could get close to Bo Ye, and hype up some CP on the way, it would definitely be full of popularity.
Now was just the right time to curry favour with Bo Ye, so Zhou Yu raised his hand with a swish: “I vote for Bo Ye.”
“Okay,” Zhang Yunfei gestured towards Liu Ziyu, “what about you, Ziyu?”
“I vote for Xingxing.”
Zhang Yunfei: “Next……”
“No need to vote any further,” Bo Ye interrupted him, “just give the card to Xingxing bah.”
“W-why?” Zhou Yu, who had just taken a side, immediately showed a dark face, then said grandly, “Bo Ye, you don’t need to decline out of modesty, let’s allocate the reward based on strength, Xingxing can also agree, right Xingxing?”
Zhou Yu was right, and Qi Xingchen said an “En”.
Instead, Bo Ye wrinkled his brows: “It’s just one card, I don’t believe there are missions I can’t get through.”
“Then you can also use it to take a break when you’re tired ah,” Zhou Yu was unwilling to give up, and continued persuading, “There’s really no need to modestly decline!”
Ever since he witnessed at first hand Zhou Yu attack Qi Xingchen during that selection, Bo Ye knew that the two of them had bad blood between them. Now that he could see Zhou Yu’s face clearly, he could barely conceal the look of disgust in his eyes.
“I’m not giving way, this is what Xingxing deserves,” said Bo Ye impatiently, “besides, this is between me and my……”
The word “fan” was already on the tip of his tongue, but when he recalled that Qi Xingchen was afraid of freeloading off his popularity and had been reluctant to call himself a “Bo Ye fan” in front of the cameras, Bo Ye abruptly changed it to “friend”.
“This is between me and my friend, we can discuss it among ourselves.”
This was a very blunt statement from Bo Ye, with two levels of meaning, the first level: none of your godd*mn business; the second level: Xingxing is my friend, and you are not.
Zhou Yu’s face could no longer be described as unsightly, embarrassment radiated from his head to toe, even from his pores.
And Qi Xingchen was scared out of his skin when he heard Bo Ye’s words, immediately striding over to his side, his voice extremely small: “The camera is still present.”
“En.”
“Don’t be angry anymore.”
“En.”
No matter how the tone of his voice sounded, it did not sound like he had cooled down. Qi Xingchen wanted to say more, but with the camera present, he decided to wait until nighttime to carefully coax the male protagonist.
