“Who are you?” The two Descenders looked at her with confused expressions.
If not for the fact that the detection device in their hands confirmed that she also possessed an “invitation,” they would have almost thought this world had glitched.
The one named “Lianen Zok”—also known as Hua Bo, said unhappily, “What are you doing? Why aren’t you following the rules? Why did you directly take away all these unfinished anomalies?”
Ruan Yaoyao frowned, looking at the device in their hands, feeling slightly annoyed as well. “Why can’t I take them?”
What was that thing?
Were they using it to distinguish “their own people”? It could even detect her “invitation”? The invitation likely had her name and planet on it—wouldn’t that expose her directly if it was scanned?
Unfortunately, the device was in their hands, and Ruan Yaoyao couldn’t see it clearly. She could only remain cautious.
“These anomalies haven’t even matured yet. If you take them early, how are we supposed to carry out ‘pollution’?”
Mature? Pollution? Ruan Yaoyao didn’t understand. She decided to probe them and get as much information as possible. “That’s your mission, not mine.”
“Then what’s your mission?” they asked.
Ruan Yaoyao lifted her chin slightly, looking extremely arrogant. “Who do you think you are, asking about my mission? Did you even tell me yours?”
Look at this—this lady is just that difficult to deal with!
Lianen Zok said, “Which family are you from?”
“Why do you care which family I’m from? First my mission, now my family—you’re clearly up to no good!” Ruan Yaoyao deliberately put on a suspicious expression.
She didn’t believe it—these “Descenders” couldn’t possibly be without internal conflicts.
Even in the real world there were two “Monster Gentlemen” and a “transmigrator” standing there as examples. There was no way they were all united outsiders.
Ruan Yaoyao was right. The seemingly wronged Lianen Zok indeed looked helpless and said, “We already gave you the invitation—what other motives could we have? Which family are you from? Why are you so unreasonable? Do you even know who we are? We’re the organizers of this event.”
“So what if you’re the organizers?” Ruan Yaoyao sneered. “Organizers don’t have shady business? Fine, you do your thing, I’ll do mine. We won’t interfere with each other.”
With that, she pretended to leave.
But Lianen Zok and his team immediately blocked her from front and back.
“Wait. We need to make this clear,” Lianen Zok said. “I don’t care what your mission is, but since you received an invitation, you must understand this—your actions cannot interfere with the organizers’ plan. Otherwise, we have the right to revoke your qualification.”
Ruan Yaoyao’s expression instantly turned cold. “Are you threatening me?”
Lianen Zok didn’t know her background and didn’t want to offend her easily. He quickly explained, “You misunderstood. I’m not threatening you. I’m just reasoning with you. You need to understand—your ability to come here and take a share of this world fragment is thanks to us. Since you’re here, you should follow our rules. If everyone acted like you, how would we run this event? Do you really think it’s easy to find a small world fragment like this? It’s not easy for us organizers to maintain it—we just hope you can be more considerate.”
Ruan Yaoyao quietly absorbed the information, pretending to think. “Fine, what you said makes sense. You organizers really do have it hard. I don’t want to oppose you either. But you came up and questioned me like that, so of course I wasn’t happy. You still haven’t explained why I can’t take them.”
One of Lianen Zok’s teammates said, “Isn’t it obvious? We need mature forms to expand the pollution. Only by ensuring the world’s pollution level can we maintain its balance. We spent so much effort cultivating those anomalies, and you took them all before they matured—what are we supposed to use for pollution now?”
Ruan Yaoyao adopted a more cooperative tone. “Then you should’ve spoken more politely. I didn’t know they were your cultivated things. I just came here to complete a mission. Who knew I’d run into so many anomalies? Of course I had to protect my own safety and eliminate them early…”
Lianen Zok’s teammate asked, “What’s your mission…?”
“To stay alive safely.”
Lianen Zok and his teammates: “……”
No wonder she eliminated the anomalies the moment she entered.
Wasn’t it natural? Of course you’d want to get rid of them before they became stronger.
Otherwise, once they grew powerful, dealing with them would be much more troublesome.
If something could be solved early, who wouldn’t want to handle it before it becomes a bigger problem?
They started to suspect she was some young lady from a powerful family. No wonder she had such a bad temper—she was probably just here on “vacation,” with no real mission assigned by her family.
The two exchanged glances and immediately became much more polite to her. Not only did they issue her a “Town Anomaly Bureau” identity badge and give her the world’s guidelines, they also told her the location of the “safe zone.”
The identity badge had “real-time positioning,” ensuring that help could arrive immediately if she encountered danger. If she didn’t want that, she could turn off tracking and only keep the “deterrence” function.
Any anomaly, regardless of level, would be suppressed upon encountering the badge.
Compared to the “safe zone,” there was also a “danger zone.” These were usually boss-level anomalies restricted to their own areas and only released when needed.
As long as she didn’t casually enter the danger zones, she basically wouldn’t encounter boss-level threats. With just the identity badge, she could practically sweep through the entire mirror world.
If she wanted to “hunt for fun,” she could go to the “hunting zone,” where mature “wraith-level” anomalies were kept. She just needed to select the orange-red area on her badge and follow the directional arrow.
The “cultivation zone” was the yellow area—which was exactly where she currently was.
Ruan Yaoyao held the badge and smiled. “You really are quite thoughtful. You even have this kind of system. Why not just mark it directly on the invitation? Wouldn’t that have saved a lot of trouble? If someone like me missed it, it would’ve been so inconvenient—and caused such a big misunderstanding.”
Lianen Zok and the others smiled awkwardly. They hadn’t expected someone to enter with an invitation and cause such chaos. Luckily, she only destroyed one area—if more had been destroyed, the world’s balance would have collapsed.
Just as they were about to leave, Ruan Yaoyao suddenly moved—two talisman papers slapped onto their backs, one in each hand.
The two froze instantly, unable to move or speak, their eyes filled with shock.
They tried to ask her what she was doing with their eyes.
Ruan Yaoyao pulled out two more talismans and said with a smile, “Oh, I left in a hurry and my family was worried, so they gave me a bunch of things. I’ve never used them before and didn’t know if they worked. I just wanted to test them. I didn’t expect it to actually work—these immobilization talismans really did freeze you both.”
